Although the employees are very nice at this campground, this campground is a bit of a hot mess. We had a lake-view site which was pretty, but there were some down sides. The place smelled oddly like the salty ocean, but my husband said it was the way a lake with lots of duck poop smelled like, so although it was nice to think it was the ocean, if it was poop we were smelling, that's kinda gross! There was a nice fountain in the lake, but it mists your site the whole time, just so you know. The sites are all very uneven and muddy with ruts created by others from when it rained. There are lots of sites in the campground, but they are a bit close together. When we were there, there were only a handful of other campers there.
The positives - They do have a large section with power for tent campers, and the bathrooms are spacious and very clean. The showers are warm and have OK water pressure. Just note that at night, the lights by the bathrooms attracts a lot of bugs, so when you go to the bathroom at night, you have walk through a flurry of them (I don't think they are mosquitoes since they didn't bite much) to get into the bathroom. The other great thing is that you get a 1/2 off pass for up to 4 guests at the water park next door. I'm glad I didn't buy my tickets ahead of time!
Speaking about the water park, Wild Water West is awesome! The only issue is that the water is pretty cold on a day that is in the upper 70's. But it was a great park - 5 really different and fun slides, a wave pool, a lazy river and multiple activity areas for kids (and a small shallow play area for really little kids). There are lockers that you can rent and multiple bathrooms with showers. In addition to the water park, there are bumper boats (although we went at the end of the day, and only one worked still by then), mini golf and go carts. FYI - you get a wristband so you can leave and come back, but don't try to play mini golf within an hour of closing - they won't rent you the clubs or balls. Also, there is no quick entrance/exit to the campground, so you have to go to the front which is a bit of a walk to your campsite.
I mistakingly thought there were full hook ups here, but it's only water and electricity. There is a dump station with one sewer hookup and two water/hoses. Internet was pretty good too, but we still used our Starlink because we had it. Because you're so close to the water park, they do run the music/"Wave Radio" while the park is open all day, so don't expect quiet during the day. This place is far out, but is only 15 minutes from lots of activities/stores within Sioux Falls. It was a good base camp to see Falls Park and other places.

We stayed here for two nights on our way from Michigan to the Black Hills. Great midway stop for a night or two with a family! We got free water park passes since we stayed two nights.
The water park is large and right next door. I couldn’t find much info on the location of the campground vs the water park but it it literally on the same property just right next door.
All the shower buildings are new as well as the large office/community building.
Well lit dump station as well

The place was nice but will be better once it’s completed. We enjoyed our stay there and the water park. Danny and his wife Lacrechia (sp?) were very welcoming and and helpful! They made us feel right at home! We will be back!

We were passing through Sioux Falls and were lucky enough to stumble across Flamingo Falls. This was the highlight of our kids’ summer! Fishing, full water park, beautiful scenery - it has it all. Conveniently close to Sioux Falls, yet enough outside of town to enjoy the outdoors. The campground just opened, so the landscaping hasn’t fully come in yet, but we absolutely loved it. Will definitely be coming back.
