“Great boondocking but beware of ticks!”

Reviewed May 05, 2018

Overall Rating

Great boondocking spot! Well maintained gravel road, vault toilet, tons of space to park. It was May when I visited and I had the entire place to myself. Super quiet at night - no highway noise. I have AT&T and did have cell reception. Trails right off of the parking lot are beautiful! Just beware of ticks. My dog and I did a quick wal... more

“Large Rig Accessible!”

We stayed here on our way up to Spokane and will definitely be back to stay again. This spot is located about 30 miles South of Spokane's downtown area so you are removed from the hustle and bustle however, only a 35 minute drive from town. During this time of the year (Late March) this is the best free spot in Spokane. There are a ... more

“Large gravel lot on the edge of some BLM land”

Reviewed Nov 12, 2017

Overall Rating

Stayed in early November. Camp area is just a large gravel parking lot shared by everyone. No designated camp sites or anything, just a spot to park. Vault toilet. No other services. Road in was in decent shape. Potholes and washboards in a few spots, but nothing too bad. Several miles on of trails leading out of camp, a strong Verizon... more

“Your choice of parking lot”

Reviewed Jul 27, 2017

Overall Rating

You basically have the choice of three gravel parking lots where you can camp. One on the southern site (where the coordinates will bring you), one north and one in the middle (at the trailhead to the waterfall). We ended up in the middle after some scouting around. Normally it is next to a through road, but the road was closed due to ... more

“Peaceful, uncrowded, free, historic”

Reviewed May 25, 2017

Overall Rating

One year ago (long Memorial Day weekend 2016) this was our very first full-timing boondocking stop, so it is a special place for us. We had actually tried to go to the Moses Lake dunes, but it was ridiculously crowded as on Wednesday, early campers basically marked out giant areas for their friends who would be arriving on the actual w... more

This was a pleasant surprise although the access is not great. Overall it was worth the work. We chose to hike in off of Jack Brown Rd. We found a site that wasn't too windy about a 15 minute walk in from the parking lot. We saw many campers parked but we were tent camping and wanted to get out of the wind. The train tracks nearby may ... more
