Don't attempt this campground with anything other than a truck camper, Van, or tent. Smallest campground I've seen with no real turn around. The backdrop is great. Beautiful scenery but the campground is blah. Glad we scouted it out without our trailer.

We lucked upon a soon-to-be available site at 9:30 am in late October. Since there are only 5 sites here, and some are really only tent-able, we felt charmed for sure. We stayed three nights and witnessed lightning storms, driving rain, high winds. It was FABULOUS! Who needs movies or TV when you're living the real thing?

The only drawback is that there's little privacy and only four fellow campers, so not much goes unnoticed. It's also a pretty steep walk up to the pit toilet so keep that in mind.

The trail head for the amazing Fisher Towers trail is nearby, so expect a dozen or so other vehicles during the day. Don't miss doing the hike, or at least go far enough that you can watch the insanity unfold that goes part and parcel with watching rock climbers. OMG.

It's a solid 45 minute drive into Moab and there are many other BLM campgrounds closer in, but this is hands down the MOST stunning location of all. No road noise, like others BLM sites that are right along the Colorado River.

Journal Monday was spent as a “going to town day”. We took $4 showers at the beautiful new Moab Aquatic & Recreation Center, then spent a few hours at one of the nicest libraries we’ve ever...
