Just needed a one night stop over. But, I like to get there mid afternoon for a relaxing set up and a nice hike before campfire cooking. The road in was very good and with very little washboard. A few sites closer to hwy were taken and I continued on finding a great level spot with plenty of space to turn around. Fire rings at most areas and of course, 14 day limit. This year was a bit unusual as we had lots of snow and a wet spring so there were no fire restrictions this June. Be aware that most years in the recent past have been too dry so no campfires in May, June & early July. Restrictions don't ease up until July monsoon rains. Cell with Verizon was spotty as you got further from hwy 260. Beautiful wild Iris and just a great spot.

The snow melt makes the entrance boggy and a giant puddle. You will get stuck in the mud as it is even squishy underfoot. Wait for the area to dry up in summer.
Beautiful area, very peaceful. Nicely spaced sites.

We loved it here. So peaceful and extremely quiet. Perfect alpine weather; it was 90 degrees in Phoenix and 65 degrees at Fish Camp. The gravel/ dirt road getting in is very well maintained. The first sites you’ll encounter are the most level. There are some great sites once you get about a mile up the road, but they’re more suited for Class B, Class C, or tent camping.
We saw a flock of wild geese walking around. Lots of bird watching and freestyle hiking opportunities. Hardly any trash at our site. A lot of the sites have stone fire pits set up by previous campers. Plenty of firewood to forage. Adequate Verizon signal toward the front. Just really fantastic dry dispersed camping.

We drove less than a mile off Hwy 60 on a well-maintained dirt road, We came to turn off to the left that had numerous spots to camp. We drove less than a mile off Hwy 60 on a well-maintained dirt road, We came to turn off to the left that had numerous spots to camp. There is a large pull-off directly across the road that will handle any size unit. I recommending camping back in from the road as the road creates a lot of dust. There is another spot about a mile further that will handle 3-4 large RVs. The town of Greer is about 3 miles. They have a couple of restaurants and a general store. There are three small lakes off to the left as you drive into Greer

We had originally planned at staying at Fish Creek but there was a big group there, so we kept going on FS 118, about 4 miles in we found a meadow area with a firepit from previous campers in an offshoot road. We were off the main road and we could see and hear traffic but no one came down our road.
2 LTE Verizon signal was great.
We would stay here again.
