Over crowded but what can you except with a National park

The dump station is a sharp turn coming out of Loop A. The flush hose is old style and doesn’t have a hose fitting. The freshwater fill, however, has been fitted with a hose connection.
Showers are warm enough, but not hot.

I travelled here with a 35’ 5th wheel, long bed pickup and parked in the site #A29, a dry, PT site for $12/night with my Senior Pass. The road is a typical National Park narrow, curving road. At the far end of the A loop is a very tight curve with trees close to the road on both sides. Swing as wide as you can if you have a larger rig. The trees on both sides have been hit (including one from me…) Ask people to move vehicles if they are parked close to the edge of the road to give yourself the most clearance possible. Plus, have a spotter on both sides. I only had 4” on the driver’s side and I clipped the tree on the passenger side since I didn’t have a spotter. While my site was a PT, it was a little hard to get situated due to the curve and the shared driveway with the adjacent site. A5 and A32 would be the only other sites I would think about getting with a rig of this size. Loops B & C are very tight and hilly. Many sites have significant slopes or drop offs/uphills to get into the site making them only appropriate for smaller rigs in my opinion. Fish Camp is a dry campground and heavily shaded. I got very little power generated from my solar panels. There were no threaded water spigots inside the loops so come in with water tanks full. Very little cell connection except in the wee hours of the night. No wifi or OTA. Showers and bathrooms were older but clean. Hot water typically ran out by 8 pm. Dump station is directly across from the Loop A exit. I had to go to the right and turn around by the ampitheater to be able to access the dump station. It was a very quiet campground with little road noise or generator noise. Even with the difficulty getting into the loop, I would definitely stay here again.

There are only 4 showers, all located on A loop. There is no parking for the shower house. In our case we had to walk a great distance through a ravine to access A Loop.

We had a tent site right beside us that we were way too close to. Was happy to finally stay in the park but next time will be more selective. TONS of mosquitos that were thankfully very slow flyers. Not fast boogers like Texas mosquitoes! Always had to use bug spray. Listened to an informative ranger talk nearby. Showers were adequate.

Do your research on the sites before reserving though, as some are very not level and some are very small as to not fit an average size trailer. We reserved a spot along the lake and loved the access to the water. Also loved the quiet nature of the campground. There are no hookups at the sites, but there is a dump station that you can use to fill up with water on your way in and dump your tanks on the way out. Lots of things to do in Glacier! We even saw a bear on the road our ride the campground. There are bathroom facilities with running water and flush toilets in the campground loops, and there are showers available in one of the loops.

While Fish Creek looked beautiful, Site B51 was essentially unusable for even our small truck camper. The site is shaped like an upside down V - it's a steep hill with a very short top to park on. And the small top section where you could maybe park slants 5-7 degrees side-to-side into the road. After 45 minutes of trying (including using all 16 of our leveling blocks), the closest to level we could get was 4 degrees off side-to-side and 4 degrees off front-to-back. It felt extremely unsafe to park like that, so we decided to leave and find a spot in Apgar Campground.
Most other sites in B loop looked fairly level and easy for any type of camper. But this site was impossible. After 2 years of full time RVing and staying in hundreds of campgrounds and off-grid boondocking sites, this was the worst site we've ever seen. Hopefully NPS can fix it, because we were lucky enough to find a FCFS site in Apgar. If we hadn't, I'm not sure what we would've done since we'd been planning to stay in Fish Creek for 6 full months.
We originally booked Fish Creek because it was one of the only reservable campgrounds with cell service for us to work during the week. But not reporting signal here because we didn't stick around long enough to find out what it was!

We reserved our space in the B loop in February before COVID hit. Thankfully we were in Fish Creek since now the other campgrounds in the park are closed.
The camp is clean with plenty of water spickets, lots of trees and most sites are pull through. The bathrooms were kept clean but best of all they had a dump toilet for waste water. Most national park sites are close together so that was not surprising. Our trailer is 28ft including the hitch so a little tight but no problem. Warning though some sites are not very level and up against a hill that you are not aware of from the picture of the site.
It is unfortunate that due to Covid many spaces were reserved but people didn’t show and never had the courtesy to cancel. The campground always had a FULL sign out but the place was half empty. The camp host said they turned 100 people a day away. So be respectful and cancel your reservation if your plans change.
We loved our stay and hope to return when the East side of the park is open.

After waking up every morning for weeks and looking at Recreation.gov I finally scored a 2 night cancellation at the only campground open in Glacier NP. I’m so happy I was persistent...staying in the park was incredible and affordable at $23 per night. We arrived on Friday with a 2 night reservation and was able to book Sunday night at the gate, we just had to move. At this point we were pros at moving camp. The campground has several loops, we were in B and C. The sites in B seem to be a bit bigger, but farther from the lake. Keep in mind there are 300 sites at this campground so you are next to your neighbors, but most are pull through sites with some trees. I’ll take little privacy for convenience. It’s definitely better than the big rig RV parks. We ended up in site C106 for the 3rd night, what a treat. It’s very small for a 20ft trailer, but what it lacked in “indoor” space was made up for with the “backyard” space haha! The lake with a, nearly, private beach was about 50 yards from the site. We hiked down with my inflatable kayak, 6ft inflatable cactus, a cooler and made a day of it. The views were insane! There are nice bathhouses centrally located, a fresh water fill and dump station at the entrance, multiple water spigots in the campground and fire pits/picnic tables at each site. Going to the Sun Road and Avalanche Lake hike are very accessible, which are the two major attractions we hit since most of the park is closed. I look forward to going back when the East side is open.
