Campers can set up at the former site of the fire tower and at log landings that have been graveled for vehicle access.
Camping for more than 3 nights or in groups of 10 or more requires a permit from a Forest Ranger at 585-415-1521 or 585-278-7777.
Accessibility is not guaranteed, always scout ahead before driving down dirt roads.

Overall Rating
We recently stayed at the Fire Tower Camp Area, and overall, we had a pleasant experience. The campsite itself offered nice spots to set up our tents, although there were no amenities available. However, this wasn't an issue for us, as we came prepared with our own supplies.
The lack of privacy at the campsite didn't bother us, as our setup allowed for a comfortable and enjoyable stay.
In conclusion, the Fire Tower Camp Area is a great option for those who don't mind the absence of amenities and are looking for a nice spot to camp with a cool history. We would recommend it to others and would consider staying there again in the future.

Overall Rating
Stayed here on a Saturday night Two other people. Had no problems with noise or cars driving by it was quite open sky with decent wind cover from trees. Not much of a view unless you walk right down the dirt road. This gives you a nice view of the valley.
