We’re having some work done on our travel trailer right down the road at Cache Campers, so we picked this for its convenient location. Only one other party here. Sites have nice trees and are separated from one another. Site 5 is in the RV section and tables and fire pits are on the proper side (another poster said they aren’t in the tent section). The lake is very pretty and looks nice for canoeing, but it’s raining and in the 40’s so we’ll pass.
One change is that they no longer accept cash. There’s a notice that due to vandalism they put in a credit card registration machine. No way to enter that you have an Alaska Disabled Veterans Camping Pass so we walked to the nearby ranger station. He said just to write your pass info on a piece of paper and hang it on the post.

The site are a bit odd at least on our side the 9-17.. apparently the place started out as a tent camping area so the table and fire ring are on wrong side for RV.
There is NOT running water only a hand pump, THIS IS what you see a most if not ALL alaska state park campgrounds. Even the camp host do have have water connections.. some have a tank and some get water delivered weekly.. Fill up at Riley in Denali if staying there or coming through and not full..
there is a picnic table and fire pit on each site we saw.
This campground if right on finger lake but did not see any site on the lake so to speak.. maybe a lake view a bit but there are lots of border shrubs, trees etc.
This is a combo of reserved and non reserved sites. not sure how many of what but site 12, 14 were drive up FCFS sites for sure.. I'll post a pic from the reservation site.. the unnumbered site are the non-reservable..
The lake and boats are is very popular with locals.. launching a boat is fricken $20.. that is each time not per day.. Day use of the park is also charged and parking.. One thing about alaska is the charge for everything. ( but hay the potholes are FREE..)
You are not far from Wasallia and just up the road is gas and groceries store.. Plus the local walmart if not far and we saw 10 or RV's parking in the lot when there earlier in the day.
The camp hosts were there to help us on arrival and they drive around checking on things during the day.. They sell firewood at the host site just past the fee station area. they told us this was the 8th year at Finger Lake.. they spend winters in AZ like a lot of us do it seems.. :) Say hi if you get a chance!!
If in the area and need a quiet nice place reserve on line at

or just show up.. weekends are not good most of the time but you never know.

We ended up here by accident but we were surprised by an excellent campground.
The host helped us finding a good campsite and explained everything to us. The sites are very large and well separated from others. You can pay in cash or by credit card. The location is beautiful.

This campground takes reservations up to 2 days in advance and I would recommend that for a weekend stay. The boat ramp is a popular draw and was in use for our entire visit. We arrived on the Sunday morning before the previous occupants checked out (campground was full) and the ranger let us park in the day use area while we went off exploring. The park was partially full on Sunday night but almost empty on Monday. Because of theft issues, the campground no longer accepts cash and you will need to check in with the hosts (who are great). Our site was large and level with bushes between it and the next one. The campground location was very convenient for visiting the Musk Ox Farm and Hatcher Pass.
