The owner ended up charging me 200 so per night for a site right on the beach. The dogs next-door are a total menace, probably six German shepherds, and at least one husky that came and took food off my table. The gate was also locked early in the morning so there was no way to leave. The bathroom and shower areas were also horrendous as no effort has been put in to upkeep.
There are better choices next-door for the same amount of money, this place should be avoided if it all possible…

Stayed here for one night, 200 pesos, right at beach, beach is clean and enjoyable, we took a hot shower, water pressure is weak, but better than nothing. No cell signal, they said they have Wi-Fi, but too faraway at the site.

We stayed at Don Fidel’s spot on our way down to see the whales during Valentines and President weekend. We where the only ones here when we arrived at sundown. We’re picked one of three palapas that he has. We were greeted by his dogs that he has friendly all of them. Fidel was not there when we arrived but once we had everything up he arrived and told us that his restaurant was closed because of the pandemic and that it’s been hard for him not to have it open and not have people in camp. He charged us $100 pesos each person as we where camping and there was four of us but he said to give him a total of $300 pesos so rough roughly $15 dollars for the night. He said that he didn’t have any propane for hot showers for us that night but by 9 AM next morning he had gas for the water heater as promised. The only negative was that he had a “hall” next to the bathroom/showers and he had rented it out for Valentine’s. So music was blaring until 2/3 in the morning until he finally kicked them out. Just know that if you come on the weekend that might happen. That’s the only reason I gave him four stars.

COLD SHOWERS, flush toilets, beach access. We even took our Jeep onto the beach and had fun driving in the surf and sand. The beauty of off-season traveling!

The approach is on gravel and hard packed sand for about a mile, not bad.
The campground has two palapas and the rest is open area on hard packed sand. A few sites have electrical, but when we plugged in our surge protector alerted us that it was reverse polarity so we unplugged. Fidel said the power had been up and down, which seems to be common in the area.
Still the campground overlooks a wide beautiful beach and Fidel is quite gracious. In the morning, there were dolphins jumping out of the water, lots of shore birds and lots of sand dollars on the shore. The beach is endless. AND there is good Wi-Fi.
There was supposed to be water, but the pressure was almost nonexistent so we didn't fill. There is also a dump on site, but the honey dipper was overdue and the dump was full. Fidel was super apologetic. SO dry camping, not altogether unexpected.
We even considered staying an extra night, but had a long way to go so we didn't. Fidel is building a restaurant in his home and gave my husband a tour. He said it looks quite nice with an outdoor area overlooking the water. Fidel used to be a lobster fisherman so I imagine there will be lobster. He hopes to open the restaurant by the end of March. We wish him the best.
