There were only 4-5 other RV's during our stay, so very easy to spread out and feel like a private campground.
The horses are out daily, which is a nice view out of the RV as you wake up in the am with a coffee. Limited hiking and biking directly from the park, but it is close to downtown.
Cell was only 1-2 bars, but it is what it is.

Just confirm there’s no big LSU events, otherwise there should be plenty of spots to choose from of the 80 some! Wide open space! All sites are grass and no sewer. We did get rain during our stay, but only a few sites were soggy. So just scope out ahead of time. Only four campers at a time on average. The weekend has a few more.
This park has horses next door that come out each morning! It’s only a 5 minute walk to the 4.2 mile levee trail which takes you right downtown! You’ll see plenty of walkers and bikers coming through the park each day. We also saw an armadillo moseying through!
Overall, the price is on the higher side for just electric and water with grass sites but the location is awesome! We would come back, for sure!

Super clean dump station $10. They are open but there was no one staying there. Cash deposit box by dump station is super sweet.

We came to BR for a conference downtown and Farr is the closest RV park that accepts pets (we have two small dogs) and had a decent rating. It is just okay, especially for $40/per night. We have stayed in much nicer state parks for a lot less. The park attendant was moderately informative but not terribly friendly.
Pros: Very convenient to downtown, just a few miles away on River Road. It is nice to see the horses in the pasture each day. We practically had the place to ourselves which was nice. Decent restroom and shower facilities and HOT showers. Pets OK. The outdoor lighting is fairly sufficient. Supposedly there are great bike trails and is very close to the levy but it rained while we were there so we didn't get to ride.
Cons: There are no concrete pad sites - everything is on the grass or dirt and the ground is very soggy, especially when it rains. So you are constantly walking in or around the mud. The bathroom is in dire need of a good power washing and some paint. Wear your flip flops when showering (this is a good rule no matter where you go). The dump station valve was higher than my exterior connection and doesn't work well if you rely on gravity to dump. Very messy!
Overall we would stay again because there aren't a lot of other good options. But for $40/night they need to make some serious improvements. Concrete pad sites would be a good start.

We picked a spot and settled in, thinking they were maybe they were gone for the day. Hook ups were locked, so we dry camped, which wasn’t a big deal. Next morning, we find the office near the horses. I explain and the very nice person in the office tells me it’s $39.90 for the night. We thought it was $20 for a couple reasons - their website and these reviews. I told her as much and explained we couldn’t use the power any way. She ended up charging me for dry camping, which was $10. I really appreciate how cool she was. Definitely dealt with some cranky office people in the past.
Facilities themselves were fine for a night. Mostly just a parking lot on grass. Office let me know they Recently upgraded to 50amps but we didn’t use any utilities. Close to Downtown Baton Rouge and the Mississippi River.

As much as I'd like to disagree I have to say Rachel's review is spot on. We stayed here for a night in Nov 2015 and regretted not spending more time in Baton Rouge so we came back. We arrived after several days of rain and flooding all around this area but the site itself was OK-others were very wet and we would not have parked there. The faucets leaked and since we have a surge protector did not experience problems with the electricity.
The showers were definitely in need of cleaning although the last stall down (of course the one I picked) was the worst and the others were not as bad. I saw the cleaning crew in there several times so can only assume they must be paying more attention to the toilets. That said, there were a number of campers there and a large group that had come to watch their kids play baseball against LSU had just left so it may have been a quirk?
In any case, Corinne, in the office is wonderfully helpful, it''s a delight to watch the horses and the CG is quiet at night. There is a bike trail (with an air pump with free air) that starts out of the area at the far end of the CG and goes up along the levee to town (about 3 miles). The CG is very convenient to both the river area as well as shopping as it's an easy drive to I-10 or any of a number of shopping areas.
We did not have any trouble finding the CG-as you come down River Rd-the only way in, look for the long white fence-the turn is just before it starts and just after the development. RVs should enter closest to the office a white building ahead as you drive in. Corinne goes to lunch from 1-2p but there is no problem with finding the site, setting up and then going in to register.
If, as was the case with us, you have a pet that gets sick, the excellent LSU Small Animal clinic is about 1.5 miles down the road on Skip Bertram Rd.
All in all, there are nicer parks but this one is adequate and nicely located.

We stayed here while working in Baton Rouge for a week. Maximum 14 night stay. $20/night. You pick your own site. All grass with gravel roads. Everything was pretty wet because the river stage was really high. The Mississippi River is right across the street with a walking trail along the levee. The campground is right next to the equestrian center so you see horses all day, which is pretty neat. Water and 30amp electric only. Most of the water spigots leak, and the electric is a little iffy. I'd definitely suggest a surge protector! The bathrooms/showers could use some cleaning and upgrades for sure. But, for a few days, it's not too bad. I'd stay here again if working in the area or to visit Baton Rouge. It's easy to pass up the entrance, and if you do, there's nowhere to turn around. Also, I'd recommend taking Nicholson down to Skip Bertman, over to River Rd. Our GPS wanted to take us down another road but you'll most likely scrape the bottom of your camper on the railroad tracks on any other street!
