Small park, newer bath house with laundry (code worked), sites are small and not level, paved throughout, water and electric at site, dump station and dumpster at gate, sites need maintenance, nothing is nearby, Baxley and Hazlehurst are nearest towns, ATT has best signal, T-Mobile and Verizon are weak. Quite and secluded, would stay again. For the price it was fine (weekly rate is $105). I try to rate based upon price, if I am paying a lower price ($) I do not hold the campsite to the same standards as a higher priced ($$$) campsite.

We made reservations with the Appling County Clerk for a 1 night stop at the Falling Rocks County Campground near the Altamaha River outside Baxley, Ga. We found the campground poorly maintained and not as advertised in the online brochure. The sites are not level and have not been cleaned in recent history. The bathrooms were not accessible because the code given to us to unlock the door did not work. There is no campground host or other authority onsite. There appear to be “permanent campers” here.
