“Great camping! Even better small town experience!”

Saw the campsite in campendium and decided to pull off I 70 for the night on our way home to Ontario. The Fairview Park is in town but 20-30 sites easy. We were the only ones there. The man from across the street dawns pull in and walked over. He's the one you pay your money to. He have us the run down of the area and recommended The Greathouse Pizza restaurant in town...Delicious homemade pizza! This town has also created their own tourist attractions https://www.bigthingssmalltown.com/ so much fun touring around to see all the giant objects!

“Great Little Jewel- Fun Little Town”

Reviewed May 22, 2018

Overall Rating

This was an amazing little city park! Although we searched the internet for a city park, we didn't find it. Then a local told us there were a number of hookups available at the park. Still can't find the park on the internet! We did mention to city officials that an internet presence was needed. Anyway, we had a 50 amp hook up with water at the site, all to ourselves. There is a dump area in the park, but not at each site. The area is fully treed and the area is all grass. We stayed there for 4 nights, and it was lovely. We drove our 30K pound 40' DP right onto the grass and picked a site, although we were careful to put out blocks under our levelers. We had decent cell coverage, also. Although we went to city hall to try to pay, they told us that someone would come to our site and collect. They did take a check. The VERY unique thing about this town is that they are installing all these attractions such as the world's biggest mailbox, pitch fork, wind chimes, etc. Very clever marketing, and all that is free to look at. There were a couple restaurants that were very good (try the Greathouse of Pizza and Richards Farm Restaurant!) and everyone was very, very friendly and helpful. This was a total unexpected jewel, and it is RIGHT ON I 70!
