We really enjoy the park. It has great sites, good amenities, and lots to do. It’s also located near some good restaurants and activities. Give it a try.

Georgia State Parks never seem to disappoint. Site 204 is right on the Lake Delanor, we listened to frogs as we sat by the campfire, enjoying the reflected scenery off the water. Clean restrooms/shower houses, hookups work great, enough cell service with a booster for me to work/Zoom, and a level site. While you can't ask for more than that, there is more! Many many beautiful, well marked hiking trails, kayak/canoe rentals, and FDR's Little White House and the Warm Spring pools are just a 20 minute drive away, and well worth the visit. 4 stars for noise because of the nearby tiny airport - mostly quiet but when a plane flies over, it's low.

Nearby Callaway Gardens is a great vacation destination with so much to do. In the fall, there is a pumpkin festival and they have a magnificent Festival of Lights during the Thanksgiving & Christmas season. We plan to return!

We stayed 3 nights over the Memorial Day Weekend in quiet loop 5. The site itself was perfect - tucked into the trees with no neighbors on our patio side or behind us. Our site had 30 amp service but several on the loop had 50 as well. The roads are narrow but we had no trouble with our little TT. Bigger rigs will need to use caution in some areas, but everyone seemed to do just fine this weekend. Our site had a concrete picnic table in the corner and a fire pit with grill. Some sites had wooden tables instead. Wonderful and well marked hiking trail system with many options for either short hikes or day long treks. The only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 was that the bath house couldn’t keep up with the full campground, many more tenters and pop-ups than they were used to. Twice there was no hot water in the showers and by the last day 3 of the toilets were out of service and the floors/counters were a mess. Not really the parks fault, but knowing the sites would be packed with larger groups it would have been nice to have more regular cleaning. We’re ended up just using our facilities and running the tote to the dump station each day instead.

There was one on our site that made me nervous as it was right over the site and leaning towards the camper. On our way out we saw another very large dead tree had actually fallen over across 2 sites. Luckily they appeared unoccupied. Bathrooms also outdated.

We stayed on a Feb 2022 weekend with great weather. The bathroom and showers were kept clean and are in a great condition. Due to my forgetfulness, the camping stove was left behind at home. At first, I was ready to drive 30+ minutes to LaGrange to a Walmart to buy one, but I stumbled into Pine Mountain just 5 minutes from the campground. Since it was a short 2 night stay, we just decided to enjoy Pine Mountain's restaurants - be sure to try 3 Pigs BBQ, Unique Expressions Coffee Shop & Cafe, and Eddie Mae's Country Kitchen, if you don't want to cook all meals at camp.
We hiked the Wolfden Loop trail and enjoyed the small waterfalls, but there are lots of trails to choose from here. Another good hike is around Dowdell's Knob.
Overall we liked this campground and the facilities and would return.

Cell:
Verizon 6.77 down 0.16 up
ATT 61.0 down 4.78 up
Didn’t record tmobile but was similar to Verizon
No WiFi at camp
Camp: all gravel
Area 1 has FHU, no shade, sites close together like at an RV park, nearest the lake. Recommend site 101- more private with a great view.
Area 2 w/e, shade or partial shade. Private, more spread out. Recommend 206 and 208- door faces a beautiful bubbling creek.
Area 3 w/e- has a gravel road getting to it (unlike 1&2 which is paved). A bit pitted and some are not as level. Looks more undone. However site 301 is fantastic. Private pull thru facing the creek.
There is no area 4 - why?? Where is area 4? By Area 51?
Area 5- w/e entirely shaded, note this is 1/2 mile away from all the trails, lake, activities. It’s very densely wooded. Felt isolated in there. But that may be your thing.
Area 6- intended to be tent sites but there is water and electric including 30amp. The tent pad and picnic pad are perfectly level. But the driveway where the car (or camper) would be parked are bumpy and super not level. Face the woods and lovely though.
Facilities
A camp store at the office and a smaller version at camp has some fun things- ice cream, trinkets, candy.
Not on the map but exists- laundry. In each bathroom building.
Bathrooms are clean.
Trails!! Lots of well marked trails and open areas to walk around in. Boating. Really nice playgrounds- modern, music, it’s awesome.
Great stay- adding to my favorites.

This is a classic Civilian Conservation Corps state park located near the Little White House and the Pine Mountain Trail. Staff we met were very friendly and the facilities are in pretty good shape for their age. The restrooms and showers were clean. Budgets are a problem everywhere, but a few small maintenance items would go along way towards improving the park. Our site had some erosion, and during a heavy rain we had about 3 inches of standing water in our site which took the better part of the night to drain off. However, this wouldn’t keep me from going back. We enjoyed visiting Warm Springs and a nearby winery.

We arrived at night in a light rain an were able to find our site without trouble. There is a gate code the park called and gave us ahead of time for after 10pm but we got in just before. Our site was on the small lake and well shaded, level and plenty big for our 18’ camper. There are many nice sites with views of the lake and good distance between them. The camp host was friendly and attentive and we were able to buy ice and wood from him and he brought it to us. There is a nice and easy hiking trail right from the campground following a small stream where we saw an amazing array of fungus. Lots of other trails a short drive away. The campground was very clean. There is a playground and saw that there are canoes/kayaks/paddle boats (we did not use) and a few people fishing. The bath house is older but clean and everything worked. Would love to visit again in the spring to see the native azalea and mountain laurel in bloom.
