It is close to the highway so expect to hear a lot of road noise during the day but traffic does diminish somewhat during the night. The Weiser River Trail is close by for day hiking and the Weiser River runs close by for creek sitting. Very clean bathrooms and not crowded. If you are headed up from Council, ID the turn off into the campground is just before you reach mile marker 149. There is no cell service.

Pro's: - nice spacious spots - easy access to the Weiser River Trail (80+ miles of a former rail line that is open to hikers, bikers, and horseback only) - the cleanest vault toilets I've ever seen/smelled Con's: - Next to the highway that lots of 18 wheelers use. Pro's:
- nice spacious spots
- easy access to the Weiser River Trail (80+ miles of a former rail line that is open to hikers, bikers, and horseback only)
- the cleanest vault toilets I've ever seen/smelled
Con's:
- Next to the highway that lots of 18 wheelers use. So get used to hear compression brakes if they're going downhill, or high rev's if they're going up hill
- No cellular service. I have a roof mounted high gain cellular antenna and I couldn't pick up anything on AT&T or Verzon
Facts (not pro's or con's):
- No hookups of any kind. There is a manual well pump for fresh water near the top of the campground. So show up prepared with your own fresh water.
- Spot 1 & 2 are first come/first serve spots. The rest are reservable. Spot 1 is the shadiest in the entire park. Great for keeping cool, not so great if you have solar.
- This CG is perfect for a night stop over on your way to somewhere else. If it weren't for the road noise it would have been perfect.

This is a great stop for those looking for an easy pause when traveling along Highway 95. It is directly off of the highway. It will be easier to find if you enter "Evergreen Picnic Site" in Council, ID into your GPS, this will get you pretty close...drive slowly, you do not want to pass it as it will be tricky to turn around. There is a reservation system over the summer, however we were there the night before reservations started, so we were able to just pull into an empty site. There is tent camping up further away from the highway that many seemed to enjoy. We choose a site completely in the back of the park and were able to fit (38 foot fifth wheel), but would be very hard for anything larger, unless you snag a site in the front. You will hear the river running, as well as some light highway noise that diminishes in the evening. This is dry camping only. There is water spigots in a few locations, but not in the sites. Our site was beautiful and private with a picnic table and fire pit. We could here the river, but not see it from our site. This is a gorgeous area to be in!
