We stayed one month at the Raccoon Valley RV Park and enjoyed the dog park, the comradery, and the trails through the mountain. However, there were some residents that had other things to say about how management treated them when problems arose. My only issue was that the park put signs in the bathrooms/showers telling people not to use the restroom or showers because they don't have enough staff to clean or money to restock supplies. While this park is cheap I am not spending my hard earned money here to be told to bring my own TP and only use the bathroom in an emergency. We were working on our bathroom and the signs went up conveniently a few days after we arrived.
The dog park is nice but small. There is a ton of extra room that they can't use for sites near the park so it would make sense to expand it at some point. When we wanted room to run we would go to a nearby park. Close to Knoxville and only about 10 minutes from the town over for all of your grocery and other store needs.

Bad Showers, only nice part was friendly greeting upon arrival. Not a destination certainly, but good for a stop over if you don’t care that it’s unlevel gravel and just a place

They have a mixture of older people and younger families. It’s convenient to the Highway and Knoxville. It’s a little hour over an hour away from the Smokies. Space is average for an Rv park. Price is good. Library was ok. Laundry was very good and reasonable.
What I didn’t like about the park was the road noise. It was almost constant. They quit doing the morning coffee. Sunday ice cream social was barely existent. No more music jams. It felt different than any of the other Escapees parks that we have stayed in. It had more of a regular RV park feeling.
We stayed there a month. Would I stay there again? Yes. Maybe a week Not a month.

We absolutely loved our time at Raccoon Valley. Super friendly staff that kept in touch with me throughout my having to change our booking several times and never said a word or charged us extra, always positive. We were coming in from California for my brother funeral and our date of arrival and leaving were so fluid. The sites are gravel but level we were able to pull through and still park our Jeep along side the RV with the bump outs out. Plenty of room in the sites. Great walking trail from the park, nice dog run. They have 4 washers and 4 dryers in a super clean laundry room and the cheapest prices per load I’ve seen yet. Ice Cream socials and coffee. We will definitely stay here every time we’re in Knoxville.

Nicely run Escapees park. Nice lay out with trails to walk the dogs. Also has fenced dog yard. Gravel site and roads. Only real issue we had was getting a good lock on Satellite TV.

I saw manger walking through campers sites look all around and peeking into Windows.
Very unprofessional. Escapees should get new management otherwise this place is a dump.
Bathrooms are disgusting and look to have not been properly clean in quite awhile.

If you are looking for an RV "resort" a place that will entertain you, then do not come here. If you are looking for a safe place to park your RV while you visit the sites around Knoxville, this is the place you want. About 40 minutes to Windrock OHV Park, about 50 minutes to Pigeon Forge, and 5 or 10 minutes to everything you need in an urban area. The sites are mostly level, or at least where you won't need more than a few blocks to level out. AT&T is beyond excellent for working during the day, Verizon ho-hum from time to time. Our number one complaint is the huge diagonal bump and ditch you have to cross to get in and out of the park, beware! The sites on the south side of the river are just parking spaces. Most of the sites North of the river are with grass between them, the width of the grass patch can mostly be measured in inches and not feet between rigs.

I think it's $25/day for 30A. We were "next to the creek" which was a joke, a little trickle in a ditch running through the center of the park. The trails were actually pretty nice, but not taken care of. I used the shower house once, which is discouraged due to Covid. It was clean and only one shower stall was open. The park was about a mile from the interstate, so convenient but far enough away not to hear it. There seems to be a lot of longterm residents here, but hard to say without the daily meet and greet. The 20A on our pole didn't work. The 30 and 50 seemed fine. There was some traffic noise weekdays starting around 6.

No wood campfires allowed.
They have a laundry facility.
Good cell service (Verizon).
Spots were close together. Many spots along the back were much nicer.
Camp host was a bit more in everyone’s business than I’ve ever experienced.

To clarify the rate, the daily rate is $17.50 + $3.00 per day for 50 amp electric.
We chose this campground because we wanted to explore the Knoxville area and stay somewhere at a reasonable cost. This campground met those needs.
The sites are close together and all gravel. Some have a nicer patch of grass than others. Each site has a picnic table, but there really isn't a level, good space to use it.
We did not enter any of the facilities as they are adhering to strict COVID protocols which we very much appreciated.
The other guests were friendly, but it seemed everyone pretty much kept to themselves.
There is a little dog park which was kept very clean. The entire park is also very clean.
The location is convenient to the highway (yet far enough to be quiet) which made it easy to visit Knoxville.
There is a great Kroger in the next town over which is Powell. We also found a great restaurant there called "The Front Porch".
The biggest challenge for us probably doesn't apply to most...we are on a quest to walk 11,000 steps a day. This campground is somewhat isolated as far as places to walk. There are no roads that access the campground to walk on. There are short trails behind the campground, but they are pretty steep which makes it difficult to just get your steps in. But with that being said, the little trails are beautiful and we enjoyed them every morning. We often resorted to just walking circles around the campground after work to get the rest of our steps in.
There is park wi-fi, but you have to pay for it so we just used our Mifi with Verizon which worked fine.
This park is fine if you are just looking for a reasonably priced place to park and work while exploring, but not somewhere I would want to spend any extended time at.

You can receive packages directly to your site by UPS and Fedex, if your name and site # are in the address. You can NOT receive USPS mail here, if you do it will go to the local post office as general delivery and they will NOT inform you of this.

There is an extreme bump in the driveway as you enter the park around the office building. This "dam" is there to divert water around the campground. It is not obvious when sitting in your rig, but it causes the most violent rocking side to side motion you may ever experience.
