Stayed two nights. We had the best site 9A on the lake with a sunset view. Very level but the next site A10 was not. 30 amp, no water. The showers were so so. very beautiful area. Some daytime noise from kids at the beach.

However it turned out to be easier to position and set up than we thought it would be and the benefits were great. We were right on the lake. The views were beautiful. Our 30amp site was not close to others, but some sites were fairly closely spaced.
There was a family get together going on that was a bit loud but did quiet down by 10:00
Bathrooms were good. Staff was friendly
The campground is close to some hiking and fishing areas.
We would consider coming back.

This is one of the prettiest campsites and least expensive! Campground was empty in March. We had an electric only site. Water and dump station available. Showers single stalled with plenty of hot water. Area is beautiful! Bison, elk viewing in the preserve. 1850’s village. Hiking, water sports, biking…this place has it all!

the camp ground is small compared to the other campgrounds with electric.

Lake access is available for swimming and there are large fields for group play. The campground itself is about 10-15 min drive down a long narrow access road. Road was in great shape. Pull through was a little tight but we had no issue getting in and out with a spotter.

We were there just before the fourth, why weren’t there more campers? Beautiful spot. Each site was a location unto itself.

This campground is located on an arm of Lake Barkley which is separated by a causeway. The wooded area has three loops; A C and D. Most sites have electricity. Few are level. Reservations are highly recommended on weekends, even in early May.

This is a lovely little campground. Our spot, C4, was beautiful and right on the lake with 30 amp electric and room enough for our 25' trailer and truck. We arrived after dark, easily found the site (thanks to our on-line map - they didn't have one at the entrance) and got settled in okay in the dark. And it is DARK in those sites if the moon isn't shining, so bring a lantern! The reservation site says water sullpy is 60' away but it's actually less than 20 - right between sites 4 and 5. I suspect with a splitter, you could just run it as city water, but we filled our tank. Really, all the spots in this small campground are pretty nice. Some are tent only or too small for most campers, but there are some big enough for 5th wheels and class A RVs. It doesn't have the amenities of the larger campgrounds, most sites are electric only, but the sites are not right on top of each other and that makes it much more peaceful. I had only two issues; both with the bath house. 1. It has HUGE BRIGHT LIGHTS that draw bugs like crazy. Expect a swarm when you go there at night. 2. It was not cleaned even once during our stay, not even to empty the trash. The other areas were kept quite clean.
We plan to go back. We also plan to ask for that site. Maybe I shouldn't make it so popular?
