Nice wilderness setting with good distance between neighbors. This was a very nice retreat after traveling all day. Wi-Fi was descent with T Mobile. I would definitely stay here again if I am in the area.

We stayed here a few weeks in 2020 and were happy. I went to book again today and found a $140 "Resort Fee" tacked on to my total in checkout.
Don't reward this dishonest behavior! This is a nice enough campground on the side of a mountain, but it's not a "resort" in any sense of the word.

The laundry was a mix —clean machines in a room that could have used more cleaning. It was poorly lit. In defense of both of these, the ceiling was very high. The showers were small, but clean. The biggest down side was that the only Wi-Fi was at the laundry/bathhouse. All interior roads and sites are gravel. Some of the roads have steep areas. This is definitely a destination for many people. Over the weekend, the park was well populated and the pool was packed. There are some additional activities for kids, as well as cavern tours.

Verizon is good and we pulled in 30mbps DL and 20mbps UL on our Pepwave 42G on AT&T.
Highly recommend their on-site cave tour.

We stayed here for a couple weeks in October and enjoyed ourselves thoroughly! The overall area is gorgeous in so many ways!
Our site was decent - a bit unlevel but otherwise solid. The sites are closer together, but there is foliage and rocks that help separate them so you don't feel like you're too close. They lead you to the site when you check in, which was nice.
The cavern tour was a lot of fun for our family. We ended up doing it on a weekday and had a private tour! The guide was very engaging with the kids and they had lots of fun! On other days, we toured a local farm and spent a couple days hiking in the national park (1hr away).
The showers were nice and the bathrooms were clean. The laundry was a bit pricey compared to other parks we have stayed at ($2 a load) but everything worked.
Overall, we enjoyed our time in the area and liked the campground. We would definitely stay here again!

Pros; location. DO THE CAVERN TOUR, sites are mostly pull through, beautiful nature, full hook up, great playground next to site E67, close to civil war museum and Cooters. Camp hosts are helpful. A few nice walking trails.
Cons: camp store has no provisions, bathrooms are not clean, fishing pond is very small and full of algae and surrounded by cat tails (hooks snagged constantly), only Wi-Fi at one building, long walking distance from camp office, disappointing rec center.

We were traveling through the area so we stayed just one night. The CG is large and clean. It’s easy to navigate to the CG from interstate 81; signage is adequate. The staff was warm and welcoming. The bathhouse near our campsite was clean and was fairly good-sized (multiple showers and stalls). Our site was partially shaded, and not level either front to back or side to side. We were able to get leveled up fairly well using leveling blocks. Our site had full hookups. Big rigs would generally be fine here, but talk with the staff to ensure you get into a spot that’s truly appropriate for your rig. The campsites are terraced, so that’s something to plan for. Bring your bug spray; the mosquitos and gnats were rough in the afternoon and evening. We were in the CG on a weeknight so it was quiet. There were a number of long-term campers there and they buzzed in and out regularly. Although we didn’t use them, the laundry facilities seemed adequate and they had plenty of machines. If you can make time on your trip, we understand Endless Caverns would be a nice sidetrip. If you stay at the Endless Caverns CG, you get a discount on caverns tickets. The New Market area (and the Shenandoah Valley) are lovely and have a lot of historical significance in our country’s history. Verizon signal was low to moderate.

We stayed early July 2022. The campground is pretty big, but we felt like we had plenty of space in our campsite. We initially used this location as a home base to explore Shenandoah National Park, because we needed cell service and there isn’t really much closer with a strong signal. However, we ended up loving the park itself! There’s a fantastic cave tour into Endless Caverns, a gorgeous cavern system, and our tour guide was very knowledgeable and gave us a great tour.
Verizon speeds- 21.5Mbps download and 9.58Mbps upload when tested with a booster. We also used AT&T. Grocery shopping was available in nearby Harrisonburg for pretty much any big box store and there was a small laundromat at the campground.
