Elkhorn Crossing Recreation Area Campground

This was an overnight stop and worked out quite well. They have put some money into this cg but upkeep is lacking. What I didn't know was this was a crossing on the Morman Trail. There's an interpretive sign next to the boat ramp. My firepit was full of trash and the dumpster was ready to spill out.

We stayed here on Aug 14, 2018. This was a very clean, well-maintained spot near the river. It’s very easy to get into on well maintained roads and could handle most bigger rigs. All the spots seemed fairly level, although when we were there, only two spots were open. There are normally 5 or 6 more but seemed to be undergoing maintenance. There is a modern playground for kiddos, clean vaulted toilets, picnic tables and fire rings, lots of grassy area. Didn’t check Verizon, but AT&T signal was rock solid and data speeds were 15-20Mbps down and 10-15Mbps up without a boost or antennae.
