Does anyone know how level site 111 is in D Loop? I've read some reviews that D Loop has some very un-level sites. ...

We stayed in Elk Ridge at the end of June and it was a very nice campground. There are some nice trails with a great overlook of the lake and the mountains. Our campsite had great view of the mountains and had plenty of space.
Ridgeway State Park was our basecamp for Ouray, Telluride and Silverton and could have been for several other activities that we just didn't have time for. The roads in the campground were a little tight, but easy enough to manuever. There were water spigots all over, but we filled up at the dump station which was at the entrance to the campground. The showerhouse was clean and well maintained though the water pressure was a little lacking.
We enjoyed our time here and would have no problems staying here again.

This state park campground is clean, well spaced, and surrounded by pinyon trees, hiking and biking trails and great views of Mt. Sneffels in the San Juan Mountains. There are large dedicated tent sites (pebbles or wood) plus others that are included in the RV sites. You can book sites marked as HA or handicapped accessible, even if you are not handicapped. Some sites are pull through for those who haul heavy metal. The camp center building has a laundry and vending machine, plus low-flow hot showers. Only 30 amp electric is included here, so make sure you have the correct plug. Ridgway is a nice small town a few miles south with all needs met, including a resale shop with most anything you might need. Seniors with Aspen Leaf Annual Pass pay $3 less per night.

We picked this location to visit a friend in Montrose, we prefer boondocking. Views are beautiful from most sites. Its a State Park, must I say more..Laundry room clean, showers hot, free with a 5 min timer, you can add more time. Fishing ponds are great for kids. Great hiking, convenient to Ouray, Telluride, Gunnison Black canyon.

Amazing park! We happened by this park and couldn’t believe how beautiful it was. Gorgeous reservoir blue waters Sandy beach, mountains with snow in background. The site was huge with great fire pit and picnic table. Trails right off campground leading to beach, marina and visitors center. Bought firewood for $5 bundle. Showers and bathrooms open, clean. Saw 10-15 mule deer in back part of campground eating and grazing around 6pm.
This state park only accepting reservations at this time (covid) but we got online and reserved same day. You can call as well but online faster.

Piñon-juniper pine forest with some scattered grasses and cactus.
Good fishing and hiking opportunities from the campground. Nearby Ouray has great alpine mountain views, restaurants, and hot springs. The city of Montrose is close and has all your shopping needs.
Also within reasonable driving distance of Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park.
Paved sites. Electric at every site. Water spigots spread throughout the campground. Dump station near the entrance. Showers and coinop laundry
Very good usable AT&T service.

This is a fabulous campground: well-maintained, generous spacing, gorgeous site and views. This is in Ridgway State Park, but it is listed separately on Campendium app. It is sites 80-187. The sites on the outside of the circles have the best views. The Dakota cg in same park looked nice but more open.

Great family friendly State Park campground. Well kept, friendly, and plenty around to do. The thing to be aware of if you have a camper is the water spigots are shared so you need to fill up at a spigot before you detach from the truck. We pulled in after dark and didn’t realize this until morning

Stayed here in early June. Campground was not full mid-week but looked to be filling as weekend approached. Sites were well-spaced and and had a little shade. Our site's description noted the close tree that could impact awnings on bigger rigs. That is accurate as our small one had no issues but larger rigs could. Other campers were surprised that sites did not have water, but with many spigots dotted around the loops so that shouldn't be an issue. Our neighbor just pulled up to one a filled upon arrival before setting up. Easy access to the lake and cute nearby town of Ridgway. The Dakota Ridge loops are easier access but close to the highway and wide open, so we prefer the Elk Ridge loops.

Upon our arrival, I figured out the park was reservation only. I had not seen this info before my arrival so it made it a bit stressful. I had to pull over to the visitor's center and call the 800 # for reservations. The person on the other end could not tell me what the sites were like and I couldn't drive through to scope the campground out. So - I took the word of the reservations person and picked one that was supposedly 90' in depth. I paid over the phone but couldn't get the daily State Parks Pass online so I had to get it at the Visitor's Center or via a kiosk near the front entrance. Upon arrival at our site, it was too narrow and no where near 90' feet deep. I'm guessing it was only 40 at the most. I called the 800# back to see if there was something else available but was told there was not. So, I wedged my rig into the spot by going up at an angle and trimming some dead tree branches that were in the way for clearance! I was able to get fairly level by placing several blocks under my leveling jacks in front. Not ideal but it worked...
Once settled, the site was adequate but in the future I would pick another spot or move to the Dakota Terraces Section of the park!
