Most Sites have no shade and are not even close to level. Some of the water spigots are broken. Toilets were broken and park service did nothing to fix it. so waste water went on the ground as well as I am sure other non- solid waste. Only one vault toilet in the entire campground. Camp host said this was the third time in a month the toilets went down but this time they did not provide portas. Wifi was spotty. People drive way to fast on the road which is where most campsites are located just side of the road.
There is no trail maintenance and all trails are overgrown deep in poison ivy.
$24 per night way to much. Save your money and boondock. Visit the cave (because the cave is cool) and be on your way.

The hosts were fantastic! The camp setup is unusual. Many of the sites are small pullouts next to the road. Not level but that is what blocks are for. I did like that I only had grasslands view in front of me. Clean sites. Although the site was narrow making my slide be over the curb and into the road, the hosts gave me pylons to make it visible. No problems. Quiet, peaceful. No Verizon but my site was close enough to the free wifi at host site I was able to connect from my rig. And where else will you have Bison visiting at the campground gate?

The site was so narrow that we extended 18" into the narrow road. The hosts were empathetic and had tried to widen the sites by simply moving the bumpers, but the rangers refused. This is stupid as most rv's have slideouts today, We had to move on to a nearby forest service campground as no other sites were available. Very disappointed. The hosts tried to help, but there was nothing they could do. Try to verify the width with the hosts if you have slideouts.

Great hiking, uncrowned, and the Fairview cave tour was awesome! Plan to spend a few days if you can

When the water is shut off at the end of September, camping prices are half off regular prices. Nightly Ranger Programs at the Amphitheater. The Campground Hosts are great - Hey Jeff & Bonnie! They were very helpful and they let us leech off their wi-fi to complete our reservation.

We were worried about getting a site because it is first come first serve, but there we’re plenary of sites available and the facilities were nice and clean and the camp hosts were super friendly. The sites were clean and everything was so peaceful.

Great park to visit especially in off season as the camp ground is half price and, hard to beat what’s available in this area South Dakota. My only minus is the hiking trails are in need of maintenance. I’m driving ms lazy to the next adventure.

Beautiful campground that's first come first served. Had no problem getting a choice of sites on a Friday mid-August. Nice exploring around the area within Wind Cave National Park. Enjoyed hiking but trails were more like very narrow cattle trails with poison ivy. Fantastic weather!! Campsites had nice firepit/grills and picnic tables. Potable water nearby were not threaded, so could not fill up via water hose. No dump site at campground and no showers. In spite of the few inconveniences, I would most definitely stay here again. Highly recommended!
