Elk Meadows Lodge & RV Resort

Conveniently located adjacent to the road going to Rocky Mountain National Park. Sensational views of the mountains. Dog park is fenced, big, and clean with lots of room for the pooches to run. Good site spacing and fairly level. Acceptable road noise from adjacent road leading to RMNP. Daily garbage pickup at site. Free shuttle to town. Convenient good restaurant next door.
Dust/Gravel/Dirt/Mud (when wet) rutted roadways and site access.

I travelled here with a 35’ 5th wheel, long bed pickup and parked in the site #A3, a FHU, BI site for $70/night with a Good Sam discount. This is pretty much just an open field. Some sites have trees nearby but not many. The roads and sites are dirt and they were rutted making travel bumpy. Plenty of room to navigate and get backed in. The CG is very close to the entrance to RMNP so it is quite convenient, but lots of road noise. Had 4 bars 5G with Verizon, weak wifi. I didn’t check for OTA channels. Didn’t use the bathrooms or the pool. I was only here for 1 night after spending the prior week inside RMNP dry camping. If you decide to make a reservation here, be absolutely positive about your dates. They have a very stiff cancellation policy - $35 change fee plus you lose 50% of the reservation cost. They do offer to let you use all but $50 of the cancelled amount within the next 12 months. They also charge a $25 fee if you arrive earlier than the stated check-in time. It felt like I was getting hit with a fee everyway I turned. I was not impressed with the CG. It felt like it was a KOA wanna be but fell really short. Like with real estate, this one is all about location, location, location. I don't think I would stay here again though.

Easy to navigate your way around the park, even in our 42ft motorhome and towing. Pool was open and clean. Putt putt golf course could use some TLC but it was still fun nonetheless. For the money we paid nightly, it would have been nice to have more level or concrete pad sites. The internet was terrible, so bring your own booster etc if you need to get work done etc while staying. All in all we enjoyed our stay.

This is the most expensive RV park we've stayed at, and to be honest, the only thing justifying that is location. Right behind our row of RVs (Row A, on the edge of the park) was the road into Rocky Mountain National Park. We were a 5 minute drive from our lot to the Beaver Meadows gate into the park. So that was GREAT! And Estes Park is pretty small, so we were near to everything (including the outstanding Rock Cut Brewery!).

Electric worked great. Water pressure was solid (our gauge had us at about 44). And despite the entire park being on a bit of a gentle hillside, our gravel lot was level enough that we didn't need to use any leveling blocks, which is always a win in my book!

Folks were friendly there. There are a couple of decent looking playgrounds (no kids with us) and there's even a mini-golf course, which we never got to try.

The park is still mostly just dirt and gravel. It's a bit dusty, therefore. And the sites are really close together. If we had put out our awning, it might have touched the rig parked next to us! So we weren't thrilled with that. For the money, we sure got a tiny amount of space.

So, in summary: great location and utilities that work with little effort. But tight space and not overall a very attractive park (although honesty, the views of the mountains around the park are pretty sweet).

We'd stay here again due to the location...but the price is tough to take.

Was packed on weekend. They do have an open field that is used for overflow/dry camping - and there were many RVs using this area too - so I get the country fair comment. Bathrooms very clean, great laundry. Pools were closed due to covid, but they looked like they were nice.
But LOCATION?! Excellent! Right outside Rocky Mtn Park, downtown Estes about 2 miles away with all the shopping, restaurants and entertainment you need. We absolutely loved the location and Estes Park in general.

Like most Colorado parks, all sites are dirt/gravel. So it can be a bit dusty. The lot we were in B-35 was fairly level. Very nice laundry room and bathrooms were very clean with nice showers. Sites are fairly close together so depending on your site, you may not have much of a patio. The property is built into a hill, so the views to the south are beautiful. Folks are very nice and helpful. We would return.
