Great location on creek. Gravel spots, water available, fire pits, tables at site. No phone signal. Several trails nearby. Small store and snacks a mile down the road with WiFi and ATV rentals. Nice folks if you need area info.

We enjoyed our stay and the park is nice with good views and well spaced sites. Restrooms are available in all three loops and were very clean. The hosts were very friendly and helpful when our coach door decided to lock us out while we were on a walk. Fishing from the campground was a little limited since there is no direct access to the Canejos due to the private property on the north side. Elk Creek fishing was good, I had just hoped to have easier access to the Canejos as well. Overall, this is a good campground with some very nice sites.

We visited Elk Creek in early Sept 2020. The campgrounds were impeccably kept with the hosts making rounds a couple times a day keeping things tidy and clean. This area is well known for its fly fishing with numerous easy access river locations. While there is no cell service at all, you can get WiFi service few miles down the road at a local establishment. This is an out of the way location in southern Colorado, and it feels (and is) more pristine and less trafficked.
Sites are first come first serve but includes a sizable over flow area. Potable water available, but you’ll need to visit one of the other close by campsites to dump. Also just up the road is a very large dispersed camping area that has wonderful views, lots of space, and is very accessible.

There's not a wink of cell phone service at this campsite (or in the surrounding area), and it's not as rugged or remote as other camping spots in Colorado, but it was fine to chill out for a few days. Dry camping only so be prepared not to have hook-ups available.
