Elk City Lake Park Campground

I arrived an hour before sunset. The camping area is located past the restroom building, boat lunch and picnic areas. This was a great overnight stay in site 3. I only used the power so I can't comment on the other utilities or the bathroom cleanliness. Site 3 is slight sloped toward the lake and toward the driver side when backed in. I'm traveling in a camper van and didn't bother with the leveling blocks. The lake is beautiful and the area is quiet. I will be flagging this place to come back on my next trip.

Only spent one night there. There are 8 total sites. We stayed at site 3 that had electric and water. Water hookup is in the ground on all the sites. It is pretty far from the electric box. Over 25’ away. We had to use two hoses to reach it. There is a dump station. No picnic tables or fire pits. There are some picnic areas in the park just not at any of the campsites. $15 a night and cash or check only. There is an envelope system to pay as you come into the campground area. All sites back up to the lake. There is a bathhouse with showers but it is pretty far from the campsites. Shower is a push type that only runs for a little bit at a time and no way to adjust the temperature. It wasn’t the cleanest when we were there. There is a resident goose that hangs around. I thought it was cute at first until it charged at me! It was lovely and peaceful to sit and look at the lake UNTIL the camper two sites over opened their black water tank and dumped it out right there at the campsite!!!! We called the city in the morning to let them know. Can’t fault the campground for that but such a shame because really the campground was great for an overnighter and we honestly wouldn’t hesitate to stay again. For one night.

This is a nice place to stay. It has electric and water hook ups, clean bathrooms and a shower. The shower button has to be constantly be held to remain on.The water is comparable to a HOT blast from a water hose. The was a resident goose who enjoys honking at all the RVs/campers begging for food along with occasional game of chasing people before they can get into their cars or campers.

After 3 nights in a row of "sleeping" at a Loves truck stop, boy was I ready for this. You'll come to a loop. If you turn right you come to the dump with potable water. Sites only have electric so top off. If you go left you'll come to the sites. There are now 8, although as of this review the 3 new sites are just being completed, and the maximum stay is 10 days. I'm thinking they removed the water hook ups while doing the additional sites. Works for me. If everyone offered a dump with water and sites with electric at these prices, my life would be easier.

For the first 5 sites you'll need to be behind a railing that runs between the loop road and the site access road. All sites are on a slight angle so your approach is best if you come at them by turning left at the beginning of the loop. We went right and past the dump then realized we were facing the wrong way to approach the sites but there are just gobs of boat access and parking spaces further down for you to turn around and come back.

50 amp service on down is available, but no fire rings or tables at the sites however shelters with tables are in a separate area near by, and of course a lake with trails. Perfect except maybe for the railing running in front of the first 5 sites, the only reason it was 4 stars for me. I don't need another thing to watch while trying to park.

We did some exploring of Elk City and had lunch at Pedro's Mexican Food. Great food for a great price.

Easy to fined right off of I40 busy during the day but quiet at night, they have electric at every site and there are 5 sites the water is set up a little weird so make sure you have a long enough hose and a splitter or just fill up ur tank before hand. There is a showers and bathrooms on the other end of the park there is a dump station there to but no water to rinse out your tank.

First night it was just us and a single other RV on the 5 sites which are part of a large park/recreation area. There were fishermen but it was too cold for activity on the playgrounds. 2nd night saw the addition of 2 more RVs on the 5 sites. They are so spaced that it still was relatively private. Would absolutely stay here again. Very close to town but still wide open areas. Water and 50 amp electric for $15 can't be beat.
