Had a great time, where we were parked could see every coming and going and had trail behind us.
will be happy when the fire level goes back to green.
the site was quite level so didn't have to do much to level out the motor home.
cause we were in the back of the campground the noise and dust weren't that bad.
camper-859411 would stay here again

So the good news is that it’s free with a discover pass and the campsites are spacious enough to accommodate any size rig. Easy to get in & out with our 35’ 5th wheel since they are HUGE. However, one must ask themselves, how much do I value free camping? If you have a big rig, you may want to reconsider since the road to get there is literal hell. The first 2.6 miles are gravel/washboard and not that bad going slow, but after you get to the fork in the road, and go left towards the campground, the next 1.6 miles are extremely rutted out and even going 5mph feels like your RV could snap in half and your spine may fracture. We were told “the road is a little bumpy but you’ll be fine” NO, it’s terrible and probably the roughest road we’ve taken our rig down before. It took us half an hour to drive the total 4.2 miles towing. So yes, it’s doable but would I do it again? Nope. We stayed 2 nights and couldn’t bear the thought of having to drive down it another day so we left early. Campground itself is nice with picnic tables & firepits at each site, pit toilets also available. No Verizon service at all, but clear skies for starlink and solar. Call for reservations.

Elbe Hills ORV Campground is a new campground administered by the Washington State Department of Natural Resources and offers free camping with the Washington State Discover Pass. In this video, I provide a walking tour of this new free camping opportunity. There was no cellular service for Verizon, AT&T, and T-Mobile at the campground, but there was AT&T and T-Mobile cellular service at the ORV trailhead.
