Stayed here for 13 days - getting into the park was wonderful with large trees with big canopies and Spanish moss overhangs along the road. We stayed in the Live Oak loop - about a mile from the Beach Loop. Mostly shaded sites with the sun peaking out here and there. We started in site 95 for 11 days and then moved to site 87 for the remaining 2 - both were W/E only. The roads around the park are narrow, but many other class A rig navigated it fine. Site 95 was wide enough to fit the rig and car side-by-side. There is a grade the further back in this site so keep that in mind for leveling. Site 87 was long and level - if you decide to park at the back of the site, you'd have total privacy. It is closer to the road and exit, so traffic noise could be an issue. There is one main bathhouse with plenty of bathrooms and showers. Water was plentiful and hot. The dump station is across the road from the CG, so keep that in mind. Hiking/biking trails start from this CG and can take you to the beach and towards the Nature Center with various exhibits and caged animals. Verizon and AT&T service allowed us to stream shows and hold video calls; T-Mobile allowed for phone calls - did not use data here. There is no laundry facility at the CG. Head down to the CG Exchange shop at the Beach Loop - go on Wed and say Hi to Carrol - he's quite a personality.

We didn’t lose our connection to the water but the rangers came around and advised us to boil the water for 24hrs after they got them fixed. It was too cold to get out and enjoy the trails but the beach is only 3/4 mile away and we enjoyed our strolls on the empty beach. The only grocery store on the island is small, cramped and very expensive. Be sure to stock up before you arrive!

I love how far the rv to each other. Our spot is near the beach and it was so quiet except with the ocean. I love it. We booked there without any idea what does this location offer I’m glad we did. It was amazing. No sewage but I’m glad our spot is near the restroom. Restroom is clean too. Staffs are nice.

Excellent cell service — Verizon— 2+ bars most of the time.
Roll out the front gate and you’re in the little beach town Easy biking: wide shoulders, decent pavement and great sight lines. Nice local bar/ restaurant 500 yards away

Lovely quiet campground. Friendly hosts. Water/Elec, but dump is just across the local road
Lovely and dark in the evening. Not many RVs while during the week. Campsites easily accessible (30ft 5th&F250), although being fairly close, plenty of vegetation/brush to afford privacy.
Single bath-house, men's side had 3 showers, 3 toilets.
pretty close to local road, not much traffic. low volumes at night
Would love to return in summer.

This is a beautiful park. We are in the Live Oaks section. I am not familiar with the conditions in the beach section.
Arrival and check-in were easy. The staff was friendly.
The sites are roomy with lots of trees between most sites. Our site (124) is an partial exception; one neighbor is a short distance away but offset so we have privacy and a nice view. The trees can present a problem getting into some sites with a large rig. We have a 37' fifth wheel and spend about 30 minutes backing into this site. We are not novices; we've been full time for over three years. Overhanging branches on both sides and trees, combined with a blind side back-in, made it very challenging. Most of the sites appear to be blind side back-ins. Most sites are level. Ours was a three block side-to-side difference. Front to rear was pretty level.
These are water and electric sites. We have 50A. There is a dump station across the state road. The bath house is clean and reasonably maintained. The area is very quiet.
We are both learning photography so this area is wonderful for us. There are beaches, woods, marshes, and beautiful sunrise/sunsets. I haven't yet tried the golf course in town.
