“Gorgeous views, gracious host”

The best views and most privacy are at Highview Circle, where we had the place to ourselves. Highview Circle has just two electric only sites at $20/night, with a pit toilet closeby (Purell dispenser mounted to the wall) and access to showers a bit of a hike away.

We got to park on the edge of a canyon with breathtaking views! Three deer walked by close to dusk. Paying guests also gain access to hiking trails.

Beware of a rough road in one spot, easily avoidable if you stay to the left of the bathrooms as you come in.

The bathrooms are by far the nicest we've encountered to date. Though shared, each bathroom is fully self contained with its own thermostat, shower with a glass door, toilet and sink/mirror/hand dryer, and you can lock the door behind you. Tankless hot water heater--hot showers as log as you want! Truly felt like luxury in the middle of nowhere. Soap, body wash, and bath mat was provided. You are asked to clean up after yourself.

Twila is super laid back and kind. She can be hard to get a hold of, just leave a voicemail or two and come by even if you don't hear from her in time. Prefers to be paid by cash.

The full hook up sites are closer to bathrooms, $35/night and had four bars of both Verizon and At&t coverage. Highview circle had one bar or no At&t coverage, two bars Verizon.

“Great view, quiet, great camp host”

We were looking for a spot on a busy Labor Day weekend near the North branch of Theodore Roosevelt national Park. This beautiful campsite overlooks the badlands near Little Missouri State Park. Twila is a gracious host. The gravel road in is a bit rough and somewhat confusing so you’ll need emailed directions from the camp host because GPS will not get you there. The campground has full hook ups but we chose one that was electric only (30A) with a spectacular view into the canyon. Very quiet; lots of space. The shower and bath were the best we’ve experienced in more than a month on the road.
