Fine campground, sites are very spread out. The general camping isn’t necessarily worse than the designated sites, so next time I’d choose that. No water. 2 mile, sometimes one lane, gravel road to our site (on the Stonyford side).

I stayed at the second last pull off
Steep entrance to site, perhaps 15 degrees or more
Lots of wildlife especially early morning
Purchase reservation on line or at general store at Stoneyford - you can’t miss the store!
BLM Reservation computer at store is ancient and virtually impossible to use
Store is very interesting and helpful
Fouts Springs road is blocked four miles in due to fires
UpCork would stay here again

This was my first dispersed camping experience ever. Beautiful place, lots of prairie dogs, seemed great at first. Then, we started to set up a tent not realizing the place was self-segregated and we were on the wrong side. The little kids started pelting us with rocks. So we packed up and drove over to "our" side. Our neighbor drove off and left her fire unattended, a resident came and kicked it over the cliff into the lake. When the lady returned she accused us of kicking her fire over the cliff then got on the phone asking her man to come "get us". We drove off being tailed closely by someone as I tried to go as fast as I could on the windy mountainous dirt roads to get the heck out of there. That was 8 years ago, it might be better now. I'd give it another try knowing what I know now about how to stay away from trouble.
Angwish would stay here again
