“Beautiful, peaceful mountain lake”

We recently stayed at East Meadow campground on the nights of June 26, 27 and 28 of 2018. We occupied site 23 and our daughter and son-in-law sight 22 (we made last minute reservations). This was the first visit for all of us. The weather was great other than lots of wind. The campground was immaculate as were the bathrooms that have flush toilets. Jackson Meadows reservoir was very full and clean. The biggest disappointment was the fishing was poor, at least for us. We had a partial lake view but other sites have better views. All sites are paved as are the roads. Tuesday and Wednesday we had minimal fellow campers and we sat by the campfire in the evening thinking it is so quiet I can hear my heart beating! Thursday afternoon everything changed as the campground quickly filled and became busy but still enjoyable. We may return someday as we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would do it on weekdays to avoid the summer crowds. The Pacific Crest Trail crosses the road coming into the campground if you like to hike. We stayed in a trailer and our daughter a tent.

“My Favorite campground”

I camp here three to six times a year. It's my all time favorite. Nice asphalt level pads. Right above the lake. Spring time the lake is up to the tree line but later in the year it drops a good 50' leaving lots of hiking and beachcombing along the shoreline. Beautiful sunsets, flush toilets, dump across the road ($15). A short distance to the Pacific Crest Trail. Open from late May to mid October. Pass Creek runs right next to this campground offering beautiful waterfalls in early summer. Only cell service is to drive up a dirt road, off the main road coming in, about 2-3 miles away. Water was plentiful this year but in the past they have had problems supplying it so be sure to bring some. Reservations are recommended for most sites but there are also many that are kept for walk ins.
