Don't bother trying to check in before 3pm, you'll get put in state park jail by a rude, angry check in person. Our site was empty, cleaned and ready but we STILL had to wait from 1:20 to 3pm to get out of jail and go to the site. LAME.

Relatively level camp sites but narrow paved parking spots with no vehicles allowed to be on the grass. Minimal visitor parking near campsites. Short drive down to the lakeside area, with beautiful views of Erie. Lots of hiking and biking trails. Park is well maintained- I saw B loop being taken care of twice a week while I was here. Very convenient to town- gas, groceries and restaurants. Would definitely stay again!

We stayed at East Harbor from July 1st to July 5th 2021.
The campground was clean and well maintained.
Spaces are not angled, and are pretty short, so they would have been challenging to back into if we had a larger trailer or if we had arrived on a busy Friday. Vehicles were parked on the roads and in the grass because the sites are so short that there isnt room to park properly on the paved pad with your trailer.
The site was paved and level and included a fire ring and picnic table.
There were not many trees in our part of the campground, and it was a bit more like a parking lot than I would have liked, but it served as a great base while we explored Put In Bay, Marblehead Lighthouse, and a few other local attractions.
Check in was completely contactless – the tag for our truck was on the power box when we arrived, and we didn’t see any campground staff the entire time we were there.
We didn’t utilize any of the campground facilities (bath house, restrooms, etc) so we have no info on those. The potable water station and the dump station were both clean and working properly.
We would absolutely visit this campground again. Even though we didn’t see staff, it was a busy holiday weekend and the campground was running smoothly with no issues, so I’m sure they were there.

There is a parking lot for boat and excess vehicles.
Our site was not very level, too all of our leveling blocks to get it level front to back. we did not have power or water hook ups so I cannot review those.
The shower house was clean and water was warm, it had an ultra low flow shower head on it so that was bad. The restrooms were clean and fairly old but in good working order.
The dump station was a disaster on sunday morning. Rude campers, one guy in a class a flushed his tanks for nearly an hour, while there was a line 20 deep waiting. we waited in line and dumped and he was still flushing his tanks.

Here's what you need to know:
Sites are SMALL. TINY. ITSY BITSY. We had 2 2-Person tents, a picnic table and a fire and were totally on top of one another and our neighbors. Tent area is not separate from the RV's, so generators recharging definitely interrupt any peace and quiet you were hoping to get. That said, if you're traveling with a group and reserve several sites together, it's probably better.
NO restrooms in the off-season. NONE. One overflowing port-o-john. For an entire section of campground. All permanent facilities were locked for the off season. Bear that in mind if you're choosing sites based on proximity to the lav.
ALOT of fisherman camp here. That means alot of movement before dawn as they head out with their boats.
GREAT for kiddos with bikes and near the site were were at, a large field area made for nice walks with our dog.

Aside from the fact that it was one of the two Halloween weekends (that were canceled), this park was everything but relaxing. We had a full hook-up in a row of other rigs. The neighbors on both sides were great! The kids were super cute and really fun to watch enjoy the decorations and theme of the weekend. The rest of the park beyond our row was very loud and stayed out well past the quiet time of the park. That aside, the worst part of the weekend was a group of campers one row over who decided everyone in the park should enjoy their dog's constant barking as much as they apparently did. The dog never, ever stopped and they never, ever thought to tell it to or take it inside the rig. We love weekends in the fall at all of Ohio's state parks, but this park is one we will not go back to despite the awesome lake and fishing. We also camp to escape the every day barrage of politics and stress of the world at large. I think it's great that people want to hang flags on their rigs and express their support, but I don't need people constantly driving up and down the streets in their golf cart sporting cardboard faces of their chosen candidate, in my opinion.

This was our first night camping in our RV ever! We made a reservation via phone the day before. That being said we were nervous to arrive at 10pm in a pretty full campground and back our 40' super c with towed jeep into slot C152. My husband backed it in like a pro and nobody was the wiser. We spent 2 nights here and thought it was a great place for newbies like us. Our kids are doing virtual school, both verizon & at&t signals were strong. We we t to the Agrican Safari drive thru zoo and it was great for our 8 & 4 year olds. The state park has a few roads to drive down and check out the lake. Didn't really venture to see what any of the facilities were like since we had everything we needed, had lots of trash bins to put garbage in, visited the playground at the campsite (nothing special, but kids loved it since where we live they're closed due to Covid.) The host/staff we dealt with were great. When we tried to start up to leave our RV wouldn't start (ended up being a problem w/ a fuel hose). Nevertheless we were stuck and needed to wait 8 hours for a tow truck. The campground was very understanding even though it was a Sat and full and they had to reroute the rv booked to take our spot. They didn't charge us for extra time spent there either. I would highly recommend staying here. Try to get a spot on the end at a cul de sac, more space on the sides. Our 40' fit on the pad at C152 and we parked our tow jeep perpendicular in front of it and just fit. Plus the massive tow truck was able to get in and tow us out!
