The sites on the outsides of the loops were mostly paved and really nice. Some of the interior ones looked like it was time for more gravel or paving. Some of the sites along the slough were really nice! A bit more crowded along the slough than the lower loop we were in. And yes, from the lower loop it is a long way to the dumpster & bathhouses. Bathhouses were old & dated (but I don't go to campgrounds for that). Laundry worked & was cheap - $1.00 per machine. Clean, quiet (other than some boats, but that doesn't bother us), pleasant camphosts. Mayflies came out in force! Fun to watch turtles in the lake and we saw 10 deer swimming across the lake!

Mostly shaded sites but with some Sun, and over half at the river’s edge. All sites have picnic tables, grill and fire pit. Overall, a little aged, main roads are paved. Some playground areas for little ones and a boat launch right in the park. Bathhouses are relatively good, clean. Hosts are quiet but friendly. Good enough cell reception, 2-3 bars with both Verizon and ATT. Best of all, 50% off with National Pass so only $12 night. Would definitely recommend, especially if you have National Pass for discount.

Miller's Ferry offers some amazing lakefront camping. A big amenity offered at Miller's Ferry is the numerous courtesy docks around the campground that provide a place to dock your boat or in our case, a convenient place to do some fishing! Many sites also have a wooden deck at the campsite. Our site (22) had the largest deck in the campground! Miller's Ferry campground is an Army Corps of Engineers campground, which have become our go-to campgrounds lately. There were, however, a few drawbacks to our awesome Alabama lakefront camping experience...First, was the ants! Within 2 hours of arriving we had ants crawling up our jack legs and in to our 5th wheel, second was the enormous amount of flies! More flies than we have ever encountered at a campsite. This was probably due to the third issue, trash in the fire pit and a grill that was not cleaned out. The big deck also had a few issues, like boards sticking up and some loose and exposed screws. This place has the potential to be one of the best campgrounds we have ever stayed at, but it's time for some maintenance and a little better upkeep between campers. All that being said, we would stay here again and give it another shot!

Most sites do back up or pull thru right on the river and in pretty good shape. The sites not on the river were nice, but there was 4/5 sites that needed brush and trees trimmed up. It was clean, easy in and easy out with the dump station. It's not a resort, it's wooded and quiet. Lots of families with small children riding bikes. We enjoyed our stay.

Our original reservation was only for site 34, but it was full sun with no shade at all. Site 32 opened up and the park let us move. It was nice and shaded and elevated a bit. We were much happier in site 32.
Our only big negative was the bath house was a long, long ways away from our site. We wound up driving their for our showers it was so far (first time we've ever done that). The bath houses could definitely stand to be renovated, but they were mostly kept clean. We'll never understand why parks won't build and maintain nice bath houses for their campers.
Laundry machines were at the bath houses and were a dollar a load for the washers and dryers.

NO T-Mobile coverage but our Verizon hotspot worked beautifully.
FIREWOOD DELIVERY by a nice guy named Patrick I found on Facebook because they don't sell firewood because there's no camp store.
Concrete pads with crushed gravel campsite surrounded by grass, trees, and bamboo plants. Each site has a fire pit and a BBQ, metal picnic table and a lantern hanger. Our site had a dock on it.
Bathhouse and laundry are clean, dry, and stocked with paper.
We traveled in our 40 foot motor home 20th no tow car.

The other campers were friendly. The only negative was the handheld shower in men’s room didn’t work and the bench was a little small and me being a double amputee that’s important but I worked around it. We have sprint coverage was ok had LTE most of the time. We’ll definitely stay here again.

We just love this campground. The hosts here were so friendly and helpful, just like the hosts were last year. This time we stayed in a site on the slough, which we enjoyed just as much as the site on the river last year, but we discovered that we couldn't get any TV reception at this site, even with our booster, and our cell service was not as good at this site either. We're giving a lower noise level rating this time around but only because two young couples with noisy small children were tent camping on the site beside as and the toddler in the nearest tent cried frequently in the middle of the night. We forgot to mention that they have coin laundry washers and dryers here... a very nice amenity. Don't miss checking out the hardware store in downtown Camden. It's one of the best, most interesting hardware stores that we have shopped in on our travels.

We were fortunate to get such a beautiful, waterfront spot. We called ahead and talked with the campground host to get recommendations on the sites that suited our preferences....and how lucky we were that we did because we had real problems trying to book a site on rec.gov. According to the rec.gov website, all of the sites (43 of the 62 if I remember correctly) were listed as handicapped and I couldn't book it without a handicapped pass #. Since I knew that they had sites available, I called the rec.gov phone # to talk to a person there and she seemed surprised to see the same thing that I had. She was able to give me a reservation for the site I wanted but although I got an email notifying me of my confirmation, I was unable to complete the pre-registration form. We arrived here not knowing if we had a site waiting for us or not. Once here, we were met by a smiling host and we had a wonderful time here. What a beautiful, quiet place! Large, wooded, secluded sites with level concrete pads. Electric/water/dump station.
The price reflects our Senior Pass discount. 14 TV stations OTA with booster.
