Eagle Tree RV Park

Got here after hours, the office was closed, but there was a sign showing available sites. Unfortunately, the site numbers and the sites are confusing and do not coordinate with the map they provide. The pull thru sites are incredibly tight with no room for a picnic table , only about a 2 foot buffer. If I got here earlier maybe the manager would have made some sense of this for me.
On the positive side, it is surrounded by trees, the back in sites look spacious, there is some road noise but it is reasonably back from the highway.

This campground has lovely big trees, good power, water pressure, and 3 bar of 5G UW Verizon coverage.

The bad news is the wifi is very slow. There are several old rigs parked with junk parked around them. The entry to the park is a single-lane road; not sure what would happen if we had to meet someone going the other way. This is by far the tightest RV park we have been in, clearly set up before RVs had slideouts. The park is right off of Hwy 305, so it is very convenient to get to; however, you do need to turn onto the highway with a blind turn, so you must be very careful getting back onto the highway.

As you can see in the photo some folks had their awnings over other campers' slides.

We decided to go to Bainbridge Island to visit friends, and since the Fay Bainbridge Park is FCFS only we didn't want to risk not finding an open spot and reserved here instead.
The property is quite pretty, with lots of tall trees and flowering shrubs. The spaces are very close together though, and the drive into the park is one-lane narrow. We never found any other driveways so had to assume it is a two-way road...Yikes! Pulling out of the park is tricky, because it sits in the middle of a blind curve in the highway in both directions and there seems to be a lot of daytime traffic.
Our check in went smoothly, but when we arrived at our spot had to do a triple-take as we were almost convinced we were looking at the wrong site. The corner space seemed to have an enormous spruce tree growing out of the middle of the entry point and a boulder parked not too far from the tree, almost like a traffic cone put there to close the spot to entry. We tried moving the rock, but only managed to scoot it a couple of inches to the side. This is a back-in spot, and our next-door neighbor's tow vehicle was cocked at an angle which made it impossible to back in around the tree from his side. We had to snake 'er in between the rock and the tree in an 'S'. If it hadn't been for the space (at right angles to us) on our other side being vacant we would never have gotten in there. I still worried that someone might show up in that spot before our check-out and block us IN!
When we had called to reserve the space we were asked if we minded "dealing with getting around a tree", and as we've dealt with low branches before it didn't worry us. They didn't say the four-foot-diameter tree TRUNK would be in the middle of the pad.... I mentioned this to the office, and the clerk on duty said, "Yeah, we have a real hard time renting that space out!" I think if they offered it at a big discount for anyone who can manage to back into it, they might have a few takers.
Poulsbo has some really good restaurants and a charming little township of Nordic influence, and Bainbridge Island has a very vibrant town center with many great eateries, shops and galleries. Another review mentioned the low bridge from Poulsbo to Bainbridge, the clearance is 14' 9". We put our rig on the ferry to go from Bainbridge to Seattle (at a little over $100 it was a bit pricey, but worth the ride), and unless I am mistaken there is no charge for passengers...only vehicles. A great way to see Puget Sound if you are a pedestrian!
It is a wonderful area to visit, too bad that availability of RV parks all across the Seattle area is so limited. I don't think we will be taking our trailer back to this region...

Worst first! Ants! Tiny black ants after being there for a few days. We never had them before arriving there and it took weeks to get rid of them. There was mold growing on the RV to our right so it had been there a while. A lot of run down rigs with junk sitting outside all around the rigs. Tight is an understatement. The rig to our left had to pull in their awning just so we could get into our pull through site. Hwy 305 is very convenient to Bainbridge and the Olympic Peninsula but pulling out any time was dangerous as hell. Not the park's fault but traffic comes by at 50 MPH and you can't see it coming.

It was a very quiet, clean campground. However there are people who live there and obviously don’t follow the clean your trailer and no items outside rules. Also there is no fire pits at the campsites there is however a communal fire pit but it’s really close to two sites so no one used it. IF I were visiting poulsbo again I would stay here again but I wouldn’t come here just for the campground.

RV parks are few and far between between the Olympic Peninsula and Bainbridge Island. I needed a short stay for business in Seattle, and wanted to be close to the ferry at Bainbridge. Eagle Tree is a short bus ride from the ferries, and was eager to accommodate our up-in-the-air schedule.

Our pull-through site was snug against our neighbors, but had we stayed longer, would have probably been moved to a perimeter site with much more room.

The park is clean, well-managed, and very friendly. Don't blink, or you'll miss your turn on Washington 305, but make the turn and they'll take good care of you.

Drive by too fast on the 305, and you'll miss this park entirely. Eagle Tree RV Park is tucked away off the road, pushing into the local forest. The centrally located pull-throughs are nothing special, but the back-ins along the periphery are very nice, each one abutting against a nice thick pine forest.

The campground is showing its age a bit, but all the facilities are well-maintained, and the staff is super friendly. Wifi is weak, but cell signals will come through just fine. Nearby to the west, Poulsbo is well worth visiting. Just a few minutes south, Bainbridge Island with its small towns, excellent walking parks, and world-class views of Seattle and Mt. Rainier is worth multiple trips.

Real estate prices in Seattle are very expensive so camp sites are few and far between. And the closer you get to the Big City the smaller the sites become so yes it is somewhat "cosy."

But it is surrounded by trees, with a number of trees in the camping area too, and a part has been kept as woodland with short trails through it. We came across a fort in amongst the trees made of fallen branches so kids obviously get out there and have fun.

It is mid November and fairly full with monthly residents, a number of whom are working short term contracts in the local area, but several sites are empty including a very flat and wider handicap site next to us. Generally the longer term campers are around the edges with the short stay sites more level with easier access in the middle.

Gravel sites so many sites, including ours, need blocks.

Both management and other campers are friendly and the site feels very safe.

There is a Club House with kitchen, showers, toilets and laundry - although we haven’t used them.

We have a 27 foot RV so are fine, but if driving a big rig I'd definitely suggest ringing and confirming one of the bigger sites is available instead of driving in and hoping for the best. Some sites look very tight to get into.

Generally quiet but there is a main road outside and the trees don't completely buffer the noise but they do a pretty good job. Mind you it is November and raining so we're only hearing a faint hum inside the RV!
