“Peaceful campground tucked away from Anchorage bustle”
Reviewed Mar 01, 2016
While not really IN Anchorage, this campground is more convenient to Eagle River, which has basic amenities, while still being close to the state's largest city.
The road into the campground is a little narrow and winding (watch for trees on the right), but easy enough to get into. The sites are all back-ins with no hookups, but there are fire pits and picnic tables at most. There's also an awesome dump station area and a place to fill up water (limited number of gallons allowed per person, as it's out of a reservoir, not from the city line).
Long fifth wheels and trailers may have trouble getting into sites, between the busyness of this park and the angle of the back-in sites, but we managed it.
Make sure you wander down to look at the river during your stay. It's a wooded view, but really cool!
