Can be a bit windy, and during our stay, we encountered snow, thunderstorms, and a windstorm that kicked up a significant amount of dust.
There is tons of wildlife and a great hiking trail in the campground. Little grocery store in Angle Fire, or you can drive to Toas for a larger selection. Located on / near the enchanted circle, so tons of gorgeous views and hikes nearby.
We were heading southwest to El Vado Lake, so we were able to dump at the speedway just outside Toas for free.

I travelled here with a 35’ 5th wheel, long bed pickup and parked in site #10, a dry PT site for $14/night. The road up to the campground loop is asphalt and is gravel after that. Several of the sites including #10 are built up on a berm so you need to be careful with placing your rig. I backed into this site due to the tight arc of the crescent shaped site. There is a nice view of the lake and mountains. There is a vault toilet there, but I didn’t use it since I was only there one night. The site has lots of room but is totally open so there isn’t any real privacy. Some social/game trails lead from the site down to the lake. Lots of water birds and prairie dogs to watch. I had 4 bars 3G with Verizon. No wifi and I didn’t check OTA.

Potable water is available at the entrance to the Camping section. Pit toilets are available in several locations. The camp host was very nice and has firewood for sale. He told us this camp ground is scheduled to be expanded with 40 more camp sites and the pit toilets will be demolished and modern bathrooms with toilets will be constructed. Coming soon …
Peaceful nights sleep, tons of stars.

But the staff here is very helpful in helping to setup where you can pay nightly versus on the app. It is $10 per day, but there are bathrooms and water available. There is a nice lake fit for kayaks and pontoons. You will catch northern pike in the lake. You will see plenty of mule deer, prairie dogs and other various wildlife throughout the park. Nice night skies. Only downside is no trees for shade, BUT the campsites have built in canopies for shade.

Beautiful campground that is kept very clean. Agree with previous statements that generator sounds take away from the experience (wasn’t too bad on our stay). A dump site and access from the campground to the beach (one has to go back to the boat ramp)would make this so much better and make it a 5 star experience.

The other campers have been really good, only running their generators for short times to prepare food etc.

Loved this place and will definitely go back. Small campground in the park, right by the lake. Sites are well spaced--no hook ups which was fine with us. Covered picnic tables, fire pit, large back in site. Water fill up right as you enter campground loop. There was a group of people who showed up which was great except they didn't follow any rules-ran generators all night, loud, dogs loose, 20 cars parked over 3 sites. Park Rangers did come around several times a day and they were cited but it was a bummer for the rest of the campers. It was cold at night, but we did fine without running our generator and wished they would have followed the quiet hours-10-7. Otherwise campground was clean and friendly. Views for days!! Lots of fun wildlife-prairie dogs everywhere, chipmunks, deer, elk, PELICANS! Lots of neat birds. Great fishing. Be sure to bring your own firewood. We will definitely go back.

Do people come out to camp anymore to enjoy the outdoors or do they come out to sit in their RV and run their generator ALL DAY so they can live the “at home” life while camping?
So this beautiful cheap campground is ruined by the sounds of generators, lost are the sounds of the birds, groundhogs and geese surrounding the campground.
And the Park Service is to blame as well, what is the point in “limiting” generator use to daytime hours? Running them during the day is just a annoying as I am awake and outside trying to enjoy the scenery.
Some parks, very few…limit generator use to 2 hrs in the am and again in the pm, now that makes more sense.
Verizon coverage is 3G Roaming

We stayed at the Westlake RV camp which is right down the road from the sites. We drove through today (5/28/21) around 3pm. There were only about 5 current campers but all of the spots said reserved. Looks like several people reserve but dont show up. We saw 2 sites that had peoples names and that they should have already been there 2 or more days but no evidence of anyone staying in those spots. Not sure if you have to pay anything in advance but looked like a bunch of no shows from my experience as a full-timer. There is a water station to fill your tank when you arrive but NO place to dump. If you are suited for that you cant go wrong at this park. The lake is nice and you are surrounded by mountains. If they had a dump station it would be a perfect location. They views and space alone are worth a night or two.
