“This Is A Really Nicely Forested Campground”

Reviewed 1/6/2023

It has been a few years since I camped here. I’ve camped here three times and it had always been very clean and pretty much empty. It’s a long drive to reach Eagle but if you’re headed for Dawson City, Eagle is a worthwhile side trip. The town of Eagle is the subject of the book Into The Country.

“Nice, quiet stay, convenient to Eagle”

We were looking for a place to stay that would be convenient to explore Eagle. We’re self-contained in our 25-foot MH and don’t use the facilities. We stayed on a weeknight in late August. This is a nice primitive (no hookups) campground with about 16 campsites arrayed on 2 loops. $10/$5 w senior pass per night. The sites are dirt and mostly level. The sites are in the trees with shade and privacy. There are pit toilets. There’s no potable water, no dump and no trash. There’s no cell service, nor WIFI. Eagle has much history for a small town. The NPS Visitor Center has great exhibits and videos. The Historical Society offers a daily tour at 9am for $7 which we really enjoyed. The restaurant in the hotel is open for breakfast and lunch.

Note access stars are for access to the CG from the town of Eagle. It does not reflect access on the Taylor Highway.
