Dutch's Tank Dispersed Camping

Half way through a 5k road trip and the kids were needing some downtime. Couldn't have picked a better spot. Don't be afraid to go past the first few spots, the road gets a little rough (Really not that bad). We have a Toyota Tundra and tow a 30ft travel trailer and had no issues. The area was easy to find off AZ-277. Arrived at dusk so we decided to take the first area we found. Leveling wasn’t a problem because the road was frozen. There was clothes and litter scattered around. Some road noise in the evening and morning. Would probably stay again.

Level spot and spacey. Good for one night, very private.

We spent one night there Boondocking. Took the first site available off the road. they were plenty of other places to go and the road was in fairly good shape. I would definitely come back and spend more time to explore deeper into the forest.

The is our very first dispersed camping. It was awesome. There are lots of sites. We chose the second one on the right. We have 32 Class A w/toad. The site was level and big. I have a tow behind total of 60 ft. A little tight for the spot we picked but doable. Lots of wide open area for big rigs.
Due to elevation, bring a jacket!

Pretty remote, no one else was there when we stayed the night. Lots of trees and a nice big fire ring. Great experience!

Sites with a good amount of space in between with fire pits at almost every site and lots of trees. Some of the sites people had left trash, and there was a dead deer carcass at one, but were able to find a nice spot with plenty of privacy! Would stay here again!

We stayed here because it was the closest dispersed camping by Petrified Forest National Park (about 1 hour away) We felt it was worth the drive to let our dogs run and since it’s December we were the only ones camping so very quiet.

Lovely area. There was no grass, but lots of dirt. A lot of places to camp. There was a little bit of road noise, but we were parked pretty close to the road. Not very far from Heber. It was a very nice place to park for a few days.
