“$30 Pass gets you a week of camping.”

Overall Rating

You must purchase a $30 pass from a self pay machine at the entrance by credit card, which is good for 7 days. An extra fee is tacked on when it is a holiday. Camping is on a relatively large and flat plateau next to the dunes and near dirt/rocky OHV trails. Outhouses were plentiful and clean. There was a visitor center, but it was not open while we were there.

We are not sure we would stay here if we did not have an OHV. We are certain this is a very busy place on the weekends. We were there mid week and we were not alone.

The wind can be fierce. We had to extend our stay due to a wind advisory in the area, better there then out on the highway.

We took a drive on the highway to China Date Ranch and bakery out of Tecopa and recommend a visit. We had read, and it was confirmed by a worker at the date ranch that you are able to ride from Dumont Dunes to the Ranch by taking Sherry Creek Wash.
