Our spot did have a fire pit that was dug out and we used that. We enjoyed our stay and the great view of the river and rolling hills.
It is a boat and fishing access area so many people were there for the day fishing. There is a vault toilet and dumpster. Cell service for Verizon was fine.

There are plenty of places to park and spend a night. The road to the more picturesque sites listed below are not reachable unless you are brave due to a major dip in the road. You can still go and park but the “lake side” camping is pretty limited. Much better than a Walmart for an overnight but probably not worth 2+ days.
Has a nicely grated dirt road - not a problem with a 5th wheel. Spent 24 hrs there.

This was our first time actually using a site we found on Campendium. We had never stayed anywhere but paid campgrounds with full hook ups. This was a new experience. We couldn't have found a more beautiful site. We were right on the Missouri River - actually just a few feet away! There are no hook ups so we were dry camping in our RV running the generator until early evening. We felt safe and content. The morning sunrise was especially beautiful. There were concrete picnic tables and a few iron campfire rings. The road in was gravel but easily passable with our 30' bumper pull. There were a few areas that were 'washed out' so be sure to get there with enough daylight left so you don't get caught stuck in a gully. This area is right off Rt. 90. Both ATT and Verizon worked well.

A nice stop along I 90. Took it super slow down three miles of washboard gravel. A big rig might have an issue turning around depending on where other rigs were parked and the condition of the gravel. Great cell service.

Large gravel parking lot! There are picnic tables, fire pits, dumpster, and a vault toilet (didn’t use). There’s a gravel road leading up to this place, but it’s a good road. It was flooded earlier in the month, but it was great today! Not crowded, just 3 other campers besides us. Gorgeous views of the river!

The area was flooded earlier in the month as mentioned by another reviewer but it had been cleared for about a week according to local fishermen. Definitely recommending that place! Toilets aren’t the cleanest but at least it has some!

This area was completely flooded out 6/2/19. Even the bathrooms & road were under water. We drove to the nearby oacoma flatts, and that was flooded as well. Unreliable for now!!

Free camping seems difficult to come by in these parts so I'm grateful to have found this place. It's one large parking lot near the dock with a dumpster and a bathroom. The dumpster got emptied Monday morning. I can only hope the toilet will be emptied very soon.... Bring your own toilet paper. I stayed on a Sunday night and there were 4 other groups here. The best way to get privacy is to strategically park. The surrounding scenery is pretty nice- there are flowers and hills and of course the river. There isn't much in ways of walking around but again, it's free. Can't beat that. Ample signage coming in and the gravel road wasn't bad at all.
