Beautiful little campground close to Hazelton Mountain. It is also bordered by Hazelton Creek. We will for sure stay here again if we are in the area.
Our campsite site parking was on the smaller side as we are in a truck camper and don’t need large parking.
However the campsite proper was very large! Lots of room for canopy/gazebo and hammocks.
As with most National Forest campgrounds none of the sites are level. But that’s okay.
There is a well pump in the campground for water, trash receptacles at several locations.
There were three pit toilets. Very clean pit toilets! The host is doing an amazing job!
They were in the process of installing bear boxes while we were there.
There really are no negatives unless driving down 6 miles of dirt road is one.
I recommend this campground if you like seclusion and peace.

We stayed here in late August as a stopover between the Badlands and Yellowstone. We were the only people there. It's a few miles off the main road, but it's a pretty campground with large pines and a small creek that runs through it. The only beings we saw were a few deer and an owl. The camp host was located at another nearby campground. It felt like we were the only ones for miles, and we may have been. I've never been anywhere so quiet. The sites are large, so even if the campground was busy there is plenty of space and privacy. There were vault toilets and they were clean. This campground it a little out of the way and we saw others boondocking on the way to this campground, but it was very pleasant and we'd definitely stay again.
