“Mosquito Torture, but we did see an alligator”

This is just one gravel loop with a boat launch parking lot at the end. You have to get a permit, which was easy, and on it is says don't park on the grass, which means the only place you can park is the parking lot. It's right by the boat launch (canoes and kayaks only). It could probably fit maybe 3 RV's, depending on the size, but it was fine.
The mosquitoes were terrible. Our RV was covered with them and they swarmed in whenever we went outside.
The bathrooms were uncomfortable, according to my kids and partner. I just didn't go.
We saw a 4 foot alligator that seemed to be hoping we'd feed it.
We saw the person who lives there as we pulled in. He didn't say anything to us. There is a cop car in the driveway and a sign says it is patrol 24/7.
It's a bit of a ways off the beaten path which was less convenient for us since we were just looking for a stop over with our pop up. About 15-20 minutes off the highway. But the roads were easy to travel on.
If it weren't for the mosquitoes it would have been a nice night's sleep.
No AT&T coverage.

We stayed here this past Spring. Parked in the back near the bayou on the asphalt. Basically had the place to ourselves. A few people stopped by to fish the bayou but no one else was staying here. I believe it is a Sheriff's deputy that lives on site.
There is a bathroom and showers. No hookups. Amazingly no mosquitoes, but I wouldn't guarantee that during the summer.
We stayed here as it was convenient to Smith Point and Anahuac reserve where we were fishing. We left the camper with our solar panel out when we went fishing and no one bothered anything.
There was a duck splashing around in a puddle that was at first wary of us, but became accustomed. At night it would wander into the park quacking away, then in the morning return to it's puddle. Cute.
To make reservations email the lady at the county office. There's instructions on the web. She'll send you a reservation form that we printed off and placed one on the camper and one in the vehicle. Never had anyone check on us.
