No Verizon service. Reservations must be made online and you can get VZW service near the visitors center, about 5 minutes away by car. I’d recommend a waterfront site in a heartbeat.
Bathrooms are closed and thusly they’ve decided to only allow self-contained RVs right now. Seemed like a strange choice. We don’t have a bathroom in our van, but they didn’t ask us about it and we had no issues staying there. Bag it out. Or they could open the bathrooms back up...

Cement pad for camper, trees are tight on the sides so no awning - which is ok. There was a nice area behind the camper with picnic table, grill, and fire ring - with a direct view to the lake.
Some sites have electric ($10 additional per night), none have sewer. Dump station at entrance.
Water is available - usually by the bathrooms. When we stayed, there was a bacteria warning for the water. That's probably why it was not very busy, even on the weekends.
Fire rings at sites, free cut firewood by entrance, you are allowed to collect down wood - and there is plenty of that.
No cell service to speak of, once in a while a text might come through.

Doris campground is oak-covered, so even in winter there was plenty of privacy. No restrooms or showers were open due to COVID. Our spot had a nice paved way raking spot, grill, fire ring and picnic table. We could see the lake from our spot and it was an easy walk to get to it. No AT&T cell coverage.

I was really looking forward to staying here but unfortunately the campground is closed due to Covid-19. A sign on the gated entrance says the trails are still open to hike though.

I stayed here for 2 nights earlier this month, in November 2019. I was on the way south but needed to hunker down to wait out bad weather: high winds. At this time of year it was chilly, quiet, and peaceful. I was pleasantly surprised by the autumn colors that abounded. I was surrounded by well kept oak trees. I saw bison and deer on the drive in. I wanted to explore the campground more but the wind was extremely cold and insanely gusty. There were plenty of nice, electric only, sites available. I chose #65 because it was the easiest for me to back into. Asphalt pad was narrow and level, across from the bathrooms. I drove over and used the showers one night. As others reported, not the best kept, but the water was hot and I got clean. Most of the time I got no Verizon signal. Occasionally a voice call would come thru, Extended Network. My weather radio came in handy for monitoring the weather conditions. There was a dump station on the way out, but I didn't use it. I used the Walmart in Lawton to get my supplies before the weather hit. I had a quiet, relaxing couple of days of book reading before getting back on the road. Twenty dollars per night for a safe place with electric hookups: Well spent. ***Cash or Check Only.*** It does not say this anywhere on their web site, that I could find. Payment instructions were at the entrance with envelopes and self registration forms.

We stayed at this campground from late Friday night to Sunday afternoon for a short weekend trip. This area is about a 3 hour drive from our home in DFW area of Texas. It was a very cold weekend so we didn’t see too much wildlife activity. Just a few deer eyes at night and a cat. We stayed at an electric spot in our self converted short Skoolie. We are about 20’ but the sites could probably fit up to about 30’ easily. Fairly level. We hiked on Sunday hoping it would be warmer but it was cold and foggy. It was still a beautiful hike straight from the campground. There was a concrete picnic table and fire ring. They sold firewood and ice at the check in office when they were open. Neighbors were pretty close and campground was dog friendly but we had absolutely no ATT service all weekend. We got a few messages at the top of our hike but that was it. Overall great trip and would def visit again.

We saw herds of buffalo and Longhorns, no elk unfortunately. Wild turkeys roamed the campground.
We stopped at the visitor center and did some hiking out of the Lost Lake area. The whole Wichita Mountains Wildlife Refuge area was beautiful.

Beautiful area with dry camping, electric hookups (no water, but several spigots available all over the campground) and group camping. We were there on Columbus weekend and it got crowded pretty quickly. The sites are spacious with lots of room for fire pit, BBQ and stuff. Every evening there are deer and turkeys gathering around and at one point there was a panicky bison running through our campsite. Lots of hikes from the campground or just a little drive away. It's right in the middle of the Wichita Mountains Wildlife Refuge, which is worth a visit alone.
If you're there check out Meers Burger, a 10 minute drive from the campground. The best burger I've ever eaten.
Cell coverage is horrible at the campground, but a 15 minute hike gives a beautiful office with great reception.

The site was large, clean, and right by the river with a bridge/trail going over it. Great fishing. It's inside the Wichita Mountains Wildlife Refuge which is awesome because their are buffalo, longhorns, turkeys, fox, ringtail cats, elk (didn't see any of the last two) roaming through the area. Great hiking. The bathrooms were semi maintained which was to be expected. All in all it was fantastic! 4 out of 5 due to bathrooms, trails lacking markers, and no one at kiosk. -- no cell service in campground but short hike up mountain and you're good :)
