Don Williams Lake Park has multiple campgrounds, the rv areas have 30 amp service and many water spigots. It has 2 dump stations. The price for RV camping is 20 for gravel pads, 18 for the "grass islands" area(basically on grass, no gravel pads). There are two primitive areas for tents only for 11 per night. Most of the campground has no time length for stays and you can rent a site for the entire season. Spots on the water are 14 days only. The shower houses are fine, but a bit old and the campground host was almost never around. The bait shop is open 7 days a week and the Park rangers were very nice.

I was aiming for Ledges State Park, but it was full, so I headed to Don Williams County Park. I stayed Sunday through Wednesday nights, so it was not busy. It would be a bit crowded if full. I stayed Sunday through Wednesday nights, so it was not busy. It would be a bit crowded if full.
I stayed in the tent area of campground C; grassy and lots of shade.
The washrooms in campground C have seen better days. Someone suggested campground A to shower... good advice.
A, B & C all have gravel RV spots with hookups - $20
C has grass RV spots with hookups - $18
A & C have tent spots - $11
Plenty to do in the area (Ledges State Park, Iowa Arboretum, High Trestle Bicycle Trail). There is a small lake within the park and there is also a golf course just up the road.

There are 3 campgrounds A, B and C thought B was closed when we were there. Unclear why. All sites were very flat though just grass no gravel. The grass was in good shape but I wonder what it looks like towards the end of the season or after a lot of rain. Not much shade though there were a few small trees planted in the tent area. We left early the next day though it looked like there were several hiking trails and ample fishing along the lake. The lake looked too small for power boating.
Helbert would stay here again
