Spent the night here on our way to Texas. BLM boon docking at its finest. Quiet peaceful. Right off the highway but far enough you can’t here the traffic. Great night sky too.

I am very happy with my solar installation at discount Sar down the block. There were a lot of help wanted signs like a person could come here, stay in the ltva and work for the season. The transfer station for garbage was 2 miles up 95 north, open maybe three early week days and free. All the people were friendly and non-intrusive. People that come to Quartzsite always come back.

Great views and lots of space. No wifi here but you have a strong cell service. I highly recommend trying to find a spot during daylight. We unfortunately came in at night so we could not see the location very well so we ended up just going in a spot right off the road. Lots of wide open space here to camp. All dry camping and we had several fire pits people had built up around us. Very quiet and barely could hear the highway. It was easy to get to and then we had ample fuel stations on our way back onto the highway. Stop at the camp host if you are staying more than 1 night. If you are coming in at night, just park it. The camp host is off duty. Talk with them in the morning. Since we came in late and left in the morning, we didn't even bother. If you are a huge rec vehicle user - dune buggy or ATV, you would love it here!
Enjoy this quiet and beautiful area but remember to pack up everything you bring in. Keep it clean and beautiful!

You have to check in with the camp host who will give you a permit (it’s free) for 14 days. We didn’t venture too far from the paved road but found a nice spot with an established fire pit (rocks) and could only very faintly hear the traffic. Dark skies were amazing. We dumped at RV Pit Stop in Quartzsite at the end of our weekend for $10. You can fill water and propane there too if needed. Great site - this was our first time boondocking so I was a little nervous but it was great. Your ‘neighbours’ aren’t at all close but still close enough to make you feel you’re not all alone out there if something goes wrong. Though I’m sure if you travel further back to the mountains you’d be even more secluded.

Mid February and not full of campers. I'm on the south side of Dome Mtn. I wanted to be away from the interstate. Established fire pits. Lots of space.
Y'all have to check in and get sticker...no charges. LTVA areas in Quartzsite you pay 40$ for 14 days and that pays for waste dumping. The guy RJ at check in was informative.

We drove back away from the main road and found our own little spot next to the mountains. It was spectacular!

Try and park furthest away from the highway. There is a ton of space and fire pits set up for your convenience. If you like to go geocaching there are some spots a long the road. We would can here again for sure.

Stayed here from 3/1/2020 to 3/15/2020. I really have no complaints about the Dome Rock camping area. It's huge and free and that's all you can really ask for in a boondocking site. I ended up getting a site closer to the road because that's where I found the best cell service, but consequently had a lot more noise from the interstate. Overall it wasn't bad though. There was plenty of space between me and all my neighbors.
The only complaints I really have are just about Quartzsite in general. It seemed like there were a lot of homeless people here and people that were camping out in the BLM areas not by choice but by necessity. I had some neighbors that had been there for months and came and asked for money. There also seemed to be quite a bit of trash everywhere and the town itself was pretty rough. However, since RV's are so popular in Quartzsite there are a ton of RV services like repair shops, dealerships and supplies, which is really convenient. Also the RV Pit Stop in Quartzsite was a fantastic place to run in and dump tanks and fill up with water and propane.
Overall the camping out here is great but it's not really a place I'm too eager to visit again.

Easily one of my favorite campgrounds. Beautiful views, good hikes, off-road trails, and enough space to be completely out on your own. Very close to town too, but far away to not hear any of the noise. I would go out of my way to camp here again :)

Open area with fire pits well positioned so campers not too close to each other. Not too crowded which made it nice. Since campground borders I-10, it’s a bit noisy which can be solved by moving to a place further back. No water on property but We were able to get our water at Tumbleweed RV Park for $5.00 which was so convenient. We moved on after 1 night since the weather was a bit cold for us. Overall, it is a nice spot.
