Stayed 2 nights, did some fishing, and relaxed. Pit toilets and water, no other services. 15 minutes out of Williams, mostly good roads, NFS road had washboards and potholes, but easily passable. Headed there again as our destination.

Exceptionally clean, well kept campground with level spacious sites.
Friendly camp host greeted us upon arriving & pointed us to the absolute perfect spot for our 40' 5Th wheel.
Drinking water is available but not to fill RV tanks & no dump station.
Beautiful lake for paddle boarding or fishing with a nature trail around it for hiking.
April 29 - temperature range from 67 degrees daytime, down to about 34 night time low.
Tall pine trees offer plenty of shade & present challenges for solar harvesting.
Dispersed camping is allowed along the 2 mile dirt road entering Dogtown Lake, however all spots big enough for a 5th wheel we're occupied when I rolled in - (read limited options).
Feels like paradise to me!

Before making the reservation I confirmed what the definition of a vehicle is. I was assured it meant the RV itself. We reserved a group spot for two RVs. We showed up with one motor home and a vehicle in tow and the other motor home with a separate driven vehicle that was not towed in at that moment because we had disconnected it earlier. Upon arrival we were told we needed to pay an extra $10 per night for the extra vehicle that wasn’t in tow. We didn’t have the cash to pay for it and they wouldn’t accept credit cards. Had a mild argument with the guy about being assured it was fine for all our vehicles. We even fit all vehicles in the spot. We couldn’t pay the extra fee so we left, drove down the road about a mile and found a boondocking spot that was far superior to the campground. I will demand a refund for the misrepresentation of the spot. With great certainty that guy would have pocketed our $20. It was about him and nothing else. Screw this place and that guy. We are happier in this spot. Don’t stay at this campground. There are numerous boondocking spots on the road in. You will find something and it’ll be free and provide the same services as the campground… nothing.
In addition, after returning from our trip I asked for a refund since they didn't provide what was promised. The refund decision was up to the campground hosts. They decided it was ok to refund just one dollar.

We stayed in a double site, even though there was just one of us, and they are $40/night with no discount. We felt like we had tons of acreage, though, and great privacy. Still it was a lot for no services, and in late July of 2020 it was a lot hotter than usual (mid-90s during the day), making it not quite so pleasant without electricity to run the AC. The trash bins that were spread throughout the park were all closed and locked, so the only trash disposal was at the larger dumpsters at the entry to the campground.
The biggest drawback to this campground is the trip in. It's 7 or 8 miles of very rough road, with lots of washboard. It might be enough to keep us from going there again. The lake is small with no beach, but my husband enjoyed fishing from the kayak. He was joined by many, many fisherpeople.
There is free dispersed camping on the road in, but it seemed very dusty. This has been a year with very little rain so far.

Campsites aren’t very private but we liked the pull through since we’re new to towing. At least 4 mile forest road ride into area, washboard in places. Lake is ok, pretty good for an AZ lake. Fishing was horrible for everyone on the lake both days. Camp host was friendly but not very helpful. I’d stay again.

The drive is well worth the effort when you get to pick the best spot on the A side. Too bad the campground closes September 30-May 1. It’s a serene spot next to the lake with vault toilets and potable water.
We got to use our Senior Park pass and only paid $12 a night.
Great cell service with Verizon.

We went when it was rainy season unfortunately. It was fun and campsite is great. They have fire kit ready. Host was kinda rude to us because of our vehicles and we had special needs people that need to be access to vehicle if needed. I would recommend everyone to go there again. My toddler daughter loved it.

Probably my favorite campground in Arizona. Been camping here over Memorial Day weekend for the past fifteen years or so. Dirt roads thru the campground, nicely developed sites with tent pads, picnic table and firepit. Pit toilets and potable water spigots are scattered throughout the campground. There are many pull-thru sites to accommodate even the biggest rigs. Walking distance to Dogtown Lake. Even on holiday weekends, it is normally very quiet. Five miles south of Williams, then two miles on a well maintained dirt road.
