Some brush on both sides could be of consequence if you are pulling an airstream or fully painted body. Plenty of spots for larger and/or longer rigs. There is one abandoned RV and a couple piles of trash in the same area unfortunately. Overall it’s a nice and quiet boondocking location. Spots are spaced out nicely.

Only real knock is that is is one of the more trash filled BLM site we have stayed in and we have been doing this for years. , not garbage, but abandoned metal, and other items apparently just dumped. One abandoned Class A RV has evidently been there for over 5 months. Spoke with. forest service officer who said there is some dispute between the FS and BLM over ownership, so clean up here is problematic. Having said ll that, we enjoyed our stay as it is a VERY quiet location. Be wary of the thorn bushes. They are nasty.

Nice free place with easy access for big rigs. We are a 42' long, 8-1/2' wide and 13'3 tall 5th wheel with good ground clearance. The place is relatively flat, you shouldn't have too much problem finding a place somewhere. There are plenty of spots. The ground is well packed, gray dirt/gravel. There is a mountain range to the East which we put our tail to so our front could face West, Southwest to help counteract the strong winds NM can offer.
3 bars LTE Verizon on our MoFi router and 2 to 3 bars LTE Verizon on our Pixel phones.

There are 3 different entrances to this place. I'd recommend the first one at 32.74469, -105.93395 rather than the other two. There's a big bump from a wash at the entrance but it didn't cause any issues. The next entrance closer to the state park was also fine but had some scraping mesquite. The third entrance closest to the park was very narrow due to washouts and you'd get stuck with a trailer if you weren't careful.
We only stayed one night after being in the state park for 2 weeks. The state park has a better view but the view from this place is good as well. Plenty of room for 10+ rigs. There were 6 or 7 others when we got there on Sunday. A few of those were likely squatters by appearance.
Unfortunately, there was a good amount of trash and illegal dumping. It was concentrated into a few areas for the most part but there was a significant amount - a grill, chairs, general household stuff. Locals ruining another public land area.
There was also some road noise but nothing terrible

Stick to the very first dirt road turn off as it is the easiest way in and out. Our spot was toward the very back and there was a dirt road behind us going N to S. We took it out once and only once because it was a rough road. Not too horrible in our jeep but definitely wouldnt take your trailer through it. This place is relatively close to White Sands National Park and definitely recommend checking out Pistachioland which isn't too far from here.

We arrived and found a great mostly level spot. We stopped and looked on foot first. 2-3 bars Verison and a great spot to check out Alamogordo and White Sands. Hoping to check out a hike at the state park also. Fabulous!! Watch the rocks in the entry.

As others said, the beginning of the access road is a little washed out. We took the road in first to check things out and found it extraordinary! Nearly level sites-and lots of them! We weren’t near any other campers, although I counted about 10 I could see plainly. Absolutely wonderful stop!

This is an awesome spot to enjoy some quiet time in the desert. Off season we had privacy and could let the dogs run without worry.
