I booked this place, and it says you can change reservations, but you CANNOT CHANGE RESERVATIONS, only cancel. Then you MAY NOT REBOOK ANY DAYS PREVIOUSLY RESERVED. It takes 45 days FOURTY-FIVE as in over 6 weeks, not 4-5 days to issue a refund.

Yes, there is a sewage treatment plant just inland and north about a quarter mile (no, we could not smell it at the park, but could when driving by.
No, there is no longer a berm on the beach blocking the view (that is usually only in late fall for storm surge if at all.
The staff are really nice, bathrooms and showers are well maintained. There is a paved bike path that run 10 miles north and 10 miles south along the beach. You can do fires on the beach at night and are a short drive or Uber from Venice, Santa Monica, Manhattan Beach and nice walk to Marina Del Rey.
Our only complaint was on the 2nd and 3rd nights a group of unsupervised teenagers were singing, shouting and laughing until 1AM. There was no security to be found or an adult to control them. There was a line at the office the next morning of complaining residents. The party did not continue on the fourth night.

The location is great. The prices are very low too for a beachfront spot. But the bathrooms/showers are the same as in jail(all metal), and not very clean. There is no pool or playground, but in this case you get what you pay for.

A typical city campground that luckily is in the beach. Stayed there because of the lack of options in the city. We were there in the weekend and it was full party time. Lots of music, drinking and airplanes every 30 seconds starting at 5:00am. Good to watch the sunset with 300 of your closest Los Angeles friends!

I absolutely loved it here. It felt really safe and it was such a treat to wake up and walk the beach. The day we arrived, there was a homeless person in the ladies shower. The days after that day, I still smelled her.
My boyfriend wanted to take a shower, but the camping host locked the showers for a unknown reason and the camping host told him to take a shower another time. The restrooms are not very clean.
The planes did not bother us. Yes you can hear them fly over, but it is not annoying at all.
We would not stay here again.

This park(ing lot) is right on the beach in Playa del Rey in the Los Angeles area, giving the rare and fantastic opportunity to stay in your RV right on the beach! It literally is a parking lot - 100% concrete - but well maintained and right on the beach. The spots are close together but not unreasonable, and each has a picnic table and grill. There are firepits on the beach. The bathrooms and showers are fine. Did I mention this place is right on the beach?!
Two significant drawbacks: 1) it is literally adjacent to LAX and takeoff flight patterns are right overhead. A lot. Many times a day, particularly in early morning and late evening. Very loud. 2) The space is illuminated at night like a Walmart parking lot - daylight level - all night long.
Dockweiler is in Playa del Rey, a small, charming coastal community. Camping sites are in three long rows, one of which is along the beach. Have stayed here twice, the second time right on the beach, which we really enjoyed. The long beach features a bike path that goes for miles, with a steady stream of colorful bicyclists and pedestrians for great people-watching.
Most of the time I had good Verizon cell service.
