When I first arrived at the State Park I was a little skeptical as it seems a “cheeky” with all the Dino theme stores outside the park and the older Dino sculptures in the park.
The camp sites are a little small and close together. But the noise and activity from the neighbors was tolerable.
The bathrooms and showers in this park are with the stay! Bar and new wood laminate and tile walls and fixtures are much better then typical style park bathrooms.
The crown jewel of this park in addition to the Dino prints is the river and the trails. There is plenty of walking along the river with fun river crossings. There are miles of great sonic hikes in addition to the water.
We totally enjoyed our time here.

The ranger station has a museum and the store is pretty cool. Dino World right outside the park can easily be a whole-day trip, so pack lunch.
There is a Creation Evidence Museum right outside of the park, featuring human footprints along with dinosaur footprints!!! I went out of curiosity but it was a mistake, as the museum was a joke.
Overall, a wonderful experience.

This place is awesome. The hikes my boys would do over and over and over. The cell reception was ok but WiFi was non existent. We stayed in number 7 and it’s a tight turn to back in. The boys are already talking about coming here again!

First time camping here and we had great time. It’s a gorgeous wooded park. Nicely wooded well kept sites. Most of the sites have the picnic tables to the back but didn’t mind that too much because of the wooded sites. The only downside is the cell service is not great. We work remotely so the cell service is a definite must during the week. We have 2 cell services one AT&T and the other is Verizon. The AT&T service only worked when I had my phone up against the window. The Verizon service was a little better so we were able to hot spot off that. Oh and since the cell service wasn’t that good we weren’t able to pickup any channels on the TV a and again that wasn’t a huge deal for us we just put in a dvd and were were set. Other then that no complaints. We had a greet time on the trails and walking down by the river.

First time in the park for us good place to just get out and hike the trails first thing in the morning and finish it off with a dip in the Blue hole which is the parks natural pool. During the hot dry month of August you can explore the river bed for Dinosaur tracks which they have marked and mapped. The rangers that I came in contact with are all friendly and helpful. Campsites are clean and they provide plenty of dumpsters for trash but the trees over hanging the camp pads could have been pruned of the dead branches. If you are over 13’ tall beware. Showers and Bathrooms are cleaned and sanitized through out the day. Cell service for AT&T was available around the park entrance but not in the camping area.

Otherwise, this was an amazing state park! (Price reflects TSPP discount).

Really nice place to relax. The grounds are kept very clean. I had no experience with mosquitoes or fire ants like I do in the San Antonio area. It was really nice to sleep with the windows open in July. The river where the footprints are is just a small walk away from the campsites and a nice way to cool off during the day. The staff is very friendly and helpful and regularly patrol the grounds. Most of the campsites are very nicely spaced and provide privacy but make sure you look at the park map and select your site after you see how they are laid out. All the sites that have water and electric can be booked for either RV or tents. RVs park up by the road while the tent is pitched by the back of the site so with that said the pick ink table and fire pit are towards the back.

I don't want to discourage big rigs from camping here, but the sites are tight. Our 38' 5th wheel took up most of site #007 length, and I took up most of the park rd to get her backed in. Our A/C was definitely up in the tree branches. Other sites looked like they would be easier for big rigs, and others looked more difficult. If you are comfortable backing and positioning your bigger rig, then go for it. If not, you might want to stay somewhere else.
Bathrooms were clean and well maintained. Check-in was easy. Hookups were easy. Very little AT&T service.
Fossil Rim, Dinosaur World, and town of Granbury were all very close and worth a visit.

AT&T service came and went - not worth bothering with.
Without a Texas State Park Annual Pass there is an additional $7 per person per day fee. (young kids are free)

In Nov of 2017 we spent 2 weeks traveling and exploring all the way down to the Big Bend National Park. After 2 weeks and 10 campground we ended up RV camping at Dinosaur Valley State Park. Located just outside of Glen Rose Texas this unique park features tracks from dinosaurs (of course!) in the riverbed. One of the things that I really like about this park are the scooter friendly paved paths. I especially appreciate the museum that is located in the front office that features a great exhibit on tracks both old and new.
This is not a large campground compared to many and there are both good and not so good points. In November it was nice to be down in the cedar breaks but in the summer this will be a sweat box! There are lots of low hanging branches that will do damage to taller rigs and some of the corners are tight.
