“NO OVERNIGHT PARKING”

I just called and talked to the store, and there is no overnight parking. The store space is rented, therefore Dick’s CANNOT give permission to stay overnight. They told me the Property Owner will have your RV towed.

I just called and spoke with the manager. You can park overnight. Just wanted to let folks know. Apparently a store that used to be there closed so there's additional parking available.

“Much better than the Walmart across the road”

We stayed our first night in Arden across the road at the Walmart. Bad decision. So when we saw the Dick's just a couple blocks away, we figured it was worth asking. The manager said no problem as long as we parked well away from the store so we chose a spot in the front corner. Yes, it was noisy along the main road but the road noise ... more
We stayed our first night in Arden across the road at the Walmart. Bad decision. So when we saw the Dick's just a couple blocks away, we figured it was worth asking. The manager said no problem as long as we parked well away from the store so we chose a spot in the front corner. Yes, it was noisy along the main road but the road noise actually died down around midnight and didn't really get loud again until 6-7am.
We actually stayed 2 nights as we extended our adventures along the Blue Ridge Parkway.
We felt safe under some lights and near the road. The parking lot was clean. And we never had cars parking near us. We ran our generators for a couple hours in the evening to recharge the batteries. They're quiet Honda generators anyway but we checked the sound level from the nearby stores and couldn't hear the generators over the street noise.
