We were there mid March and the road was slightly rutted. There is a water crossing before the campsites which has a concrete bottom. Not sure on your van and trailer as far as clearance. I’ve seen subarus, jeeps, and trucks back there the two times we went. I would check the national forest website for a map

We scouted this spot for our 26 ft motorhome and decided against it. Too many big pot holes and spots to bottom out, large creek crossing too deep for us. Only spot we would have fit IF we risked the sketchy road was on the other side of creek and had no fire ring. We went to Dockery lake campsite instead
