“Gorgeous but Sandy”

Located about 30 minutes from Moab on Rt 128. The campgrounds sits on the banks of the fast-moving Colorado River. There are stunning views of the canyon walls on both sides. There are 8 individual first come, first served sites. Sites were spacious with a picnic table and fire ring. We were the first ones in at 6 pm on a Wednesday. There are somewhat smelly vault toilets, a boat ramp, picnic pavilion, and reservable group sites (which were occupied but on the far end of the campground). No hook-ups. No water. Cost is $20 a night or $10 with the Access Pass. The campground is right off the road so you can hear some traffic but 128 is not well traveled especially at night. Probably due to the dry conditions (we were under a no campfire order), there was terrible sand whenever the wind picked up. It was great outside as long as it didn’t blow too hard. We were chased inside for dinner due to the sand. It was a cloudy night so can’t review the night sky. No cell service but Starlink was great.
IRY would stay here again
