We stayed here for the first time and are definitely planning to return. We have a 24 foot travel trailer and there were several sites that could accommodate us. There are also quite a few sites that would be great for tent camping since they were definitely not level enough for a trailer. The road in is tight, but we did pass another trailer as we left and there was plenty of room for each to pass. Pit toilets were clean and had plenty of TP. We took a day trip to Drummond Island and enjoyed it.
Marsha would stay here again

Beautiful campground, very tranquil, lots of wildlife. Not big-rig friendly. I'd say max of 30' 5th wheel and that'd be right at the max. 25' and under shouldn't be a problem. Beautiful campground, very tranquil, lots of wildlife.
Not big-rig friendly. I'd say max of 30' 5th wheel and that'd be right at the max. 25' and under shouldn't be a problem.
It was our first time here, and we took the risk and BARELY squeezed around the loop with our 35' 5th wheel (I like a little adventure sometimes). The last two turns are the ones that really get you; picked up a few scratches but made it out with some multipoint turning.
If you're willing to take the risk, don't mind some scratches, and are very experienced with your tow, there are 1-2 sites you could squeeze a bigger rig into, site 6 by backing down the loop and another at the far end driving the normal way.
Site levelness varies a lot by site, some are very level, with a couple of pull through sites, and others are pretty uneven.
Sites have table and fire ring. There are multiple privies and water pumps. The one privy we used had no TP or sanitizer.

Detour State Forest Campground was one of our favorite campgrounds. It is located on a peninsula on Lake Huron. It has multiple beaches with great swimming. The road in is quite narrow, winding it's way through a pine and hemlock forest. As such it is not good for larger RVs. The campground is not heavily used and I have never seen it filled. It is a ways of the road, so there is no road noise. The only thing you hear are the waves lapping against the shore and the wind in the trees.
