This park was the first time the Campendium app failed me. We had to make an unplanned stop in Barstow and this park was rated higher than the Calico KOA, so I reserved a spot with a really nice woman over the phone. We got there and were so disappointed. This whole side of town is in bad shape, inside and outside the park. The park is run down and there is a new sign welcoming long term residents. The restaurant is permanently closed. It didn’t feel safe so we left and stayed at the Calico KOA which was 1000% nicer.

Friendly Staff. Bathrooms were In Disrepair. There was a fight In The Nearby Bathroom at 3am, We Almost Had To Leave. We Had A Dry Campsite For $25 But I Don’t Think I’d Stay there Again.

This seems to have many permanent campers. There is a noisy bar close by. It wasn’t well lit, and it was very unkept. I did appreciate the hot shower.

This is an old but clean RV park. Restrooms old and could do with a little renovation but clean. Nice clean small pool and small aerated pond for fishing. The best part is the Bar and Grill located next to park which is a nice place for drink & dinner. Close to Calico Ghost Town for fun visit.

The park is pretty worn and the services are old but everything worked, including the wifi which was strong and fast. We didn't look at the bathrooms. After boondocking for several days it was great to have the quiet and the services. We were happy to pay $40 for this rather than stay at dusty, dirty, noisy Peggy Sue's Diner!

We stayed there just for one night at that was the last place where you would like to be.
Restroom dirty, not cleaned up in 12 hours. Even afterwards it wasn’t clean. The showers are in really bad conditions. Leaking and damaged.
The site has no table or fireplace.
I asked in advance if the pool is open and got the answer yes. But when we arrived I had to clean it up for 30 minutes first. So many dead animals and leaves and feathers. Everywhere rubbish and trash. The hoover for the ground was out of order for years. I found some pH tester (water quality) and the water Quality was already at the worst level.
In total here are going so many things into the wrong direction. The guy at reception was friendly and recommend the bar and grill but if we saw the campground we stay away.
If somebody is really taking care about this spot it could be a good alternative to the KOA. Even because it is close to Peaggy Sue.
I wouldn’t stay again

The campground is an older park, but it has a pretty pool, beautiful little fish pond with ducks, and nice gravel sites. Sites were full hookups. Some long term residents and several short term were there. Only 5 minutes to Peggy Sue's Diner, which is a definite place to visit. Original diner was opened in the early 50s and expanded after that. Verizon service with a booster was okay for data, but AT&T was fast. Our site was a pull through long enough for the RV and our tow vehicle. Water and power were reliable. Great stop over site with great rates for California!

We stayed just one night at Desert Springs while we fueled and shopped in Barstow. The park has several nice amenities – a swimming pool, a small fishing pond, several long level pull through sites and a small restaurant next door. There is a dump station and propane available. There is some vegetation between most of the sites for privacy and you can walk the hillside above the park for exercise. Our only knock was the amount of trash piled around several obviously long-term rentals.
We had 3 bars of 4G. The park advertised wifi, but we had no luck at all getting it to work. You could get connected, but had no internet access.
